Milly walked into the Hufflepuff girl dormitories. She looked around the room. There were many beds. She picked one that didnt have stuff on it and set her things down. She looked around and then took a seat on her bed. Milly didnt know anyone from Hogwarts yet, and no one from Hufflepuff. She wanted to know more people. Milly started to take things out of her small bag. She would wait for her trunk to arrive off of the Hogwarts Express. She put some things away of what she could. She put some books on the bedside table. They were study books. Milly liked to be on top of everything. She had all fourth year books so that she could excell in her classes. She looked around the bare dormitories and sighed. She wished she knew someone. If this were her first year coming to school she would probably have more friends. This was her fourth year and she just came to Hogwarts. She went to another witch school that was just for witches. She decided to come to Hogwarts after hearing all the great things about it. She tossed her hair behind her shoulder and looked around.

It's hard to be new, in your first year at school. But its harder to join a few years on, when friendships and enemies are set firmly in stone and not a hell of a lot will change them. It makes it much harder to make friends, and leaves you all the more likely to be a total drop out, unliked by all. That or fall in with the wrong crowd of friends and end up doing things that you later regret. It varies between people.
Breezing into the dorm with overly heavy bag hanging form one shoulder Ebony made straight for her own bed, dropping her bag down on the floor and flopping onto it, breathing deeply, eyes shut. Opening her eys again she took a breif glance around the room, Perhaps Della or Lilly would be in? But they were not. There was only a strange girl, one she had not seen before.
Ebong shot her glances from the corders of her eys as she buisied herself at the foot of her bed, sorting books into the trunk and looking for her things for that afternoon. She was a pretty girl, a year younger, but the chances? Less than nothing really. Your alone and your never going to get a girl friend, face it she told herself harshly. She needed to take a reality check and she knew it. Returning to the side of her bed she dig out a hand mirror and brished out her long auburn hair, put on more eyeliner and searched through her draws. Pulling out a pair of thick plastic framed lensless glasses she put them on, checking her reflection in the mirror.
Satisfied she moved around to better closer the door and sat ont he bed. Glancing across at the girl and humming to herself she decided it would have to be her who would break the scilence. Looking across at the girl she said, Hey there. Im Ebony. Ebony Arka she smiled in a friendly manner. It was worth a try after all.

Milly looked at the doorway as the girl entered. She looked to be about a year older then her. That didnt bother Milly though. She went back to doing her own thing. She was about to introduce herself when the girl did it first. She turned her head to look at her while she talked. It was what Milly did when she was listening. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and then introduced herself. My name is Milly. Milly Tri. She said. She smiled at the girl. She wasnt good with introductions. She always got what people called tongue tyed and she couldnt think of anything to say. That was all her bad too. She should have something to ask a person when she first meets them. But sometimes her mind goes blank. Milly placed the books that were setting on her lap back onto the bedside table. She turned and looked at Ebony. She wanted to say something she just didnt know what yet.
Are you a fifth year? Milly decided to ask. She wasnt sure but she thought the girl looked a year older then her. She probably wouldnt be in many of her classes. That was ok though as long as she had someone to talk to. This was the first person she had met at Hogwarts yet. She was quite happy to finally find someone to talk to. She grabbed her thick hair and pulled it up. Then she grabbed a little mirror out of her bag and looked at herself through it. She thought she looked ok but what did Milly know. She knew everyone had their own opionons so she tried to keep hers to herself. Since it mostly got her in trouble was what her opionons stated. She smiled at Ebony and waited for her to reply to her question.

It is hard to make introductions sometimes. Getting toung tied and confused, Ending up shy and lost, unsure of what to say. But introductions have to be made, and eventually people have to adjust and make friends, new friends. It happens given time. Thats just the way things work.
But a smile goes a long way. A very long way. Bridging the gaps where words cannot. Across cultures and language barriers a smile can travel. Passed around like a baton of love and hope. But even without classes and cutures and language barriers a smile can triumph. Even say, across an empty room. Ebony turned to the girl and gave her a warm smile.
Brushing a strand of hair behind her ear she said. Thats a lovel Name Milly, i like it. she smiled again And yeah, I am a 5th year, scar scary 5th year heh? she giggled to show she was joking and let her self rock forwards. Her hair fell out from behing her ear nad into her eye again. Arms planted on the side of the bed she looked up again, she smiled widely. A smile to cross the room.

Milly smiled back. Thanks, your name is nice too! Milly said shyly. She walked over closer to the girls bed and stood there. I wish I was a fifth year. Milly said laughing. She didnt have any fourth year friends yet but she was glad she had met Ebony. Milly smiled again at the girl. She seemed nice and she thought that they would get along great. Milly liked to meet new people. Milly hoped that Ebony liked her. Milly grabbed her brown ponytale and started twisting it around her fingers. Her hair went to the middle of her back and it was sometimes curled. Milly knew playing with her hair was a bad habit so she tossed it over her shoulder. Milly smiled at Ebony again. So have you been going to Hogwarts for your full five years? Milly asked trying to make a conversation with Ebony. She looked into Ebony's eyes and smiled. She then looked down at her outfit. She had on a sweater and jeans. She knew it wasnt to formaly for her first day but she didnt really care. She grabbed the edge of the sweater and fingered it lightly. Another bad habit! Milly said to herself. She hoped that Ebony didnt notice. She did it when she was nervous. Why was she nervous though? This was nothing to be nervous about.

Sometimes its hard to make friends, coming in late, the lucky ones start out in the first year and stay there. Same school smae clique, its all so easy, So very, very easy. But others have to fight harder, make friends ships and forge into old ones, Pushing aside all and sundry. Ebony had been a lucky one. Yeah, five years here. Five whole years an im still freaking single she joked. You?
She glanced around the room again, force of habit, then pulled her feet up so that her legs were crossed. And then smiled at the girl. Curling and flexing her fingers she laughed. And anyway, you don't wanna be in 5th year. Too many exams. she stretched and yawned like a cat. Its all good

Yep still single. Milly said. Milly put her hands in her pockets and sighed. She kept her hands in her pockets and she put a smile on her face. Yea, I bet there is a lot of exams for being a fifth year.Milly said suddenly liking that she was a fourth year. Milly smiled and then looked down again. Milly wished she could have gone to Hogwarts when she was a first year...then she would know people and she would have more friends then she has. Milly was ok now becuse she had met Ebony but what if she hadnt met anyone. Would anyone be her friend?

A quiet smle a whsipser a motion. Thats all it can take to start a friendship off. But it can have other effects as well. Spark of love or cause hatred. It depends on the inflection.
Ebony smiled at Millys responses. Hehe, Love isn't the be all and end all in life or so they say. and altough she didn't show it she hoped desperatly that it was true. The chances of finding another gay wizard or even a gay muggle accpeting enought to take her being both a witch and a werewolf. Well it was fairly narrow. But that wold just have to be endured.
She smiled again, it tweaked at the sides of her face as she half laughed. Heh yeah, waaaaaay to many exams it seems, all about to pile up on me. In a sort of pile i guess she waved her arms to try to explain what she meant. She laughed again.

Milly smiled at Ebony. I want to be with the right person I guess. Milly said. She was really unsure of herself right now. She wasnt quite sure of herself because she liked girls but then again there she met one random guy and liked him. She did the same for girls. She had never went out with either a guy nor a girl but she was willing to try something new. She had never expressed her feelings with another person. Milly didnt know if she ever would tell anyone. This person had to be a close friend. Milly was going to tell Ebony but she didnt know yet. What if she thought she was weird and didnt want her as a friend.
Yea I bet there is a lot of work. And a lot of piles of homework. Milly said laughing. She wondered how much work she would get. She hadnt gone to any classes yet but she was pretty sure she was going to get a few piles. Probably not as much as Ebony but it would be enough for Milly. She smiled and then looked around the room.

Somethings remain unsaid otheres do not, and some things are lost withing mindless banter. That is often the way in which important information is exchanged. It works that way. Simple. It can also be the way that secrets are told but that is somthing else entirely.
Ebong uncrossed her legs stretching them out and pointing her toes so that they clicked before putting them back. She smiled, answering to the second statement first, far too much, the teachers all seem to think its like we're doing them next weel she laughed, thinking about what else she had said, and anyway, aren't we all? she smiled again. This girl, she was interesting that was sure.

Milly looked around uncomfortably. I think I am confused about myself. Milly said. Had she really said that out loud. She just wanted to ask herself the question in her head. Great now she thinks I am stupid. Milly said her face reddening slightly. Maybe she could trust Ebony with her secret or confusion to her. Should Milly continue? I better continue now. Milly said to herself. She let out a deep sigh and continued with her story or her confusion.
I think I might like girls but then every once in a while I find this guy but I seem to be attracted to girls. Milly said reddening. Hopefully Ebony didnt think Milly was weird. Her face was red now and she looked down. She didnt want to look into Ebony's eyes. The silence was aqward for Milly as she looked to her left. She wondered what Ebony was thinking. She hoped that they could still be friends.

And sometimes in our lives we must all make choices, simple day to day things like shihc socks to wear or more deep things. Like choosing your orientation. Making friends and loosing them. Who to trust. Ebony had made her choice long ago, that she cared for females and not males, that her trst was for the most part placed in Adam, that she did not care what the others said.
And Milly too had made a choice, she had chosen to trust Ebony, to tell her somthing that most would be afraid to admit. And with that news ebony felt very much honoured. She held out her arms to take the girl into a hug if she should so accept, smiling warmly as she said. Nothing wrong with liking girls m dear. I do. And im proud. And maybe you do like boys from time to time? Thats no bad thing either. For all ou know you could yet be Bi. And hey theres alll the more fish in the sea if you are. Its not a bad thing. She smiled again. Her day was going well.
She smiled again.

Milly smiled as she listened to the girl. She didnt care that she was bi she even said she liked girls. Yea, thanks for understanding. I am glad I told you about this. Milly said to Ebony. Milly looked into her eyes and smiled. This was different for her becuase she has never really spoke her feelings to anyone. She was glad it was Ebony she spoke to. She had finally found someone that liked girls like her. Sometimes she felt so different from everyone else. Milly put her hands together and looked back up at Ebony. Milly felt like a thousand pounds had been lifted off of her and she liked feeling light like she did now. Milly wished that she would have met Ebony earlier.
Milly smiled at Ebony again. She liked the girl and smiled again. She wondered what to say what to do. Yea there are some boys that I like but then my feelings change about them. Milly said thinking of what she just said. Yea thats the way she felt about boys. Sometimes they were to immature for her and they just turned her off sometimes.

More often than not the old adage, "A problem shared is a problem halfed", is true. And on this occassion it was. Ebony could see the girl looking happier allready as though just saying it had made her feel better. And she felt a sudden surge of affection for her. She was a brilliant girl. That was true.
Hehe, Its okay. Glad I could help. she laughed, And yeah I know that feeling. Its sort of gone pretty much now but not completely. She smiled at the girl. It was hard to explin what she meant but she hoped Milly would understand.
