[Andromeda Malfoy]

Her day could be described in one word. Horrible. She somehow managed to get another detention, she missed lunch and breakfast, her bag had torn and she got a letter from her father once more telling her to stay away from the Potters, Weasleys, and Lupin. Like she didn't already know! her family seemed to think she would run off with one of those blood traitors. As if. The day before had been alright, she got in a fight with Adam Weasley, although she accidently called his mother a mudblood. She felt abit guilty but her father had heard and sent her some gold to buy new dress robes. Great example he was setting... Andromeda made her way down teh crumbling stairs to beside the lake. Plopping down on the grass she sighed heavily. Laying back she let her hair cascade over her shoulders and onto the grass. Her green eyes made the grass lok dull and dead. Sitting back up she smoothed out her robes. Taking out her wand she smiled softly, twirling it in her fingers. It was cherrywood and unicorn hair. 13 inches. Sighing to herself again she layed down on the grass again. Whispering a new spell she had learned and pointing her wand to the ground. Immediatly a green rose grew. Picking it, she smelled it and sighed. twirling the stem around her fingers. It had been a long time since she had a boyfriend, lately they had only been flings. Her father was less than pleased with her behaviour, but he let Matt do whatever he pleased. Andromeda was still a virigin.. she was waiting for the right person to come along. After all, she was only 14.

[James Potter]

Okay, so maybe he was just trouble, but really, it wasn't his fault he already had three detentions. Really. James let out a sigh and pushed back his wind-blown hair. He was just coming in from Quidditch practice, and he had a little extra surprise. And he'd probably get another detention for it. James shrugged at the thought and grinned. Adam would be furious. At least, he though he would be. You could never really tell if his cousin was going to burst out laughing or burst out shouting. Oh well. He'd needed to do something after that fight with the Malfoy's in the hall the other day. Disgusting creatures, Slytherins, just like the snakes of their house. But a lion could always beat a snake, no matter how poisonous their bite.

James walked leisurely across the lawn, relaxing in the rare sun. The lake beside him smelled faintly of algae, but it wasn't to bad. The grass was green and the sky was blue, overall it was a pretty nice day. Until he saw the Slytherin. It was that Malfoy girl, the one with the hair that looked like a mop. The seeker was preparing to storm over and harass her when he noticed she had pulled out her wand. quickly he ahd his own out as well, ash with pheonix feather. Still he paced toward her, anger creating a mask over his normally pleasant features. At least, until he noticed the charm she had just worked. A rose had grown beside her, and she was gently twirling it in her fingers. James couldn't help it, a grin stole across his mouth and his hazel eyes sparked with mirth. He sat beside her in the grass, knowing she hadn't noticed him, with only about six inches between them. "Hey there."

[Andromeda Malfoy]

Andromeda hummed softly to herself. It was nice to be alone for once. She got sick of her girlfriends who lived to ridicule everyone. Her brother was probably off with some girl or another. Andromeda put on a good act. She was naturally cruel to everyone so that was not hard. But she acted alot meaner than she was. You had to be the right type of person to bring that out of Andi. She did not hear the footsteps as she was humming. Still twirling the green rose absent-mindedly. Hearing a voice she jumped slightly. The green rose falling to the ground and vanishing immediatly. She noticed the eyes first. unlike hers, they were hazel.. A slightly mud-like color. Andromeda sat up and brought her knees up to her chest. Letting her blanket of blonde hair spill over her back and shoulders. Her emerald eyes narrowed slightly, no doubt he was here for some reason. Why was he talking to her? A Potter did not talk to a Malfoy.. unless it was to insult them. yet, he seemed half human when he spoke. "Can I help you?" she asked coldly. yet her voice still held some warmth, you had to dig deep to find it. Her eyes held innocence and love, showing she was not simply dismissing him. She, unlike her brother tolerated small talk from ones as unworthy as Potter. After all, he always played the hero. His father was a hero in most of the wizarding world.. while hers looked evil and mirthless. True, he was often.. but her mother often told her daughter how he had changed. He no longer wished for You Know Who to take over, that was the past. He now only wanted the wizarding world to be ranked.. like in his own mind. He wanted his children to be powerful, something her grandfather had given up... Ah, dear grandpa.. he surely put evil into prospective. He had always adored his tiny granddaughter.. she looked so much like Narcissa. She had features of a veela as well. Yet, no veelas were in her family. People often asked her that though. Looking back at James she rose her eyebrows, waiting for him to respond. seeing hhis wand out she too kept hers in sight. Who knew when she would need it.

James grinned at the fourth year as she sat up and drew her knees to her chest. In sharp contrast he sprawled across the warm, prickly grass, propping his chin on his elbow. His hazel eyes noticed her nearly neon green ones flick to his wand, and he realized with a start he had left it out. With a flourish he tucked it into the deep pockets of his crimson Quidditch robes and sat up as his finger brushed against the object of his theivery. With yet another broad grin and a wink in the girl's direction he withdrew a golden snitch. Okay, so maybe he had gotten the idea from tales about his grandfather, but that didn't make it anyleass cool, did it? I didn't think so. James held it tightly clenched in his tan fist, glancing over at the girl to see if she was watching. No, he did not like the Malfoy, he just liked to show off. That was all. Her hair still looked like a mop. Finally he let go, watching it flit around in front of him for some time before catching it easily and letting it go once more. "What, can't a guy say hi?" His hazel eyes looked at her sidelong. She was the Slytherin seeker, surely she relished that moment of catching that wriggling ball of gold and flashing wings? Surely she loved the rush of wind and adrenaline as you dived after teh snitch, racing your opponent to victory? She must. Unless she was just Seeker because her father had been. A slight frown crossed his face at this, causing a slight wrinkle to appear on his forehead. It wasn't possible, was it? James released the snitch near her, subtely directing it to fly right in front of her face.

Andi noticed the red quidditch robes, so he played the game too... Andromeda did not have much passion for it, however her father wanted her to play.. so she did. She was rather good and hoped to eventually make captain. Rolling her eyes as he sprawled out, she finally put her wand away. She was taken aback when he winked at her. A Potter, winking at a Malfoy. Now that one was a new one. Eying the snitch carefully she knew it was stolen, why else would he have one? that only made her alittle more interested in the older male. At his words she shrugged I suppose. Don't you have friends to talk to? she asked in a slightly amused tone. She watched as he teased her with the snitch. As it flitted around her head she kept her eyes on James, while catching the snitch easily. Not bothering to give it back she kept it in her fingers, the golden balls wings folded back up and Andromeda examined it carefully before looking back up to James cut to the chase Poter, what do you want? she asked as she too sprawled out on the grass, keeping a distance from the rival.. she still ahd not given the snitch back, nor did she plan to. Letting her hair spread into the grass she sprawled out in a seductive manner. Sighing deeply and waiting for a response from the older boy laying beside her. Looking around slightly she was glad to see not only no Slytherins but no sign of her brother either.. The grounds around the large lake seemed deserted. Looking back over the water she saw the giant squid. It was a warm day and she longed to go swimming as well.

James saw her surprise as he winked at her, and he couldn't help it. He did it again, a grin spreading across his face, abolishing the frown, to show his white teeth. He wasn't the most ahndsome kid in the school, but he was pretty close to it. Who knew what he would grow into? That was another good question. His parents, of course, wanted him to be an auror, but James thought he was good enough to be a proffessional quidditcch player. After all, he had never lost a match. Except for that one time. What a fiasco that had been! But this year no such thing would happen, and he would totally beat the Slytherins and their dispassionate Seeker. Which reminded him. James turned back to Malfoy, noting her gloriously casual shrug as she spoke and eyed the golden snitch flitting merrily about her head without a care in the world. "Sure I do, but they're not here right now." The Gryffindor grinned calmly as she caught the snitch and held it in her hand. She was good, and maybe her hair really didn't look like a mop. Maybe it was more like a...ferret tail. That's it, a bunch of golden ferret tails. James couldn't help it, he quirked a thin black brown and grinned once more. He was, after all, in a good mood today, and smiles were supposed to be contagious. He wanted to see if this ice cold female could catch them as easily as she'd caught the snitch. "Right now? I want my snitch back." His hazel eyes roved over her as she sprawled back, noting the rather seductive posture. He was sure that was on accident. After all, why would a fourth year Slytherin want to seduce a fith year Gryffindor. Oh, right, now I remember. James reached up and vainly tried to wipe the grin off his mouth with a callused hand before giving up and turning back to Andromeda. "Please?"

Andromeda laughed slightly. His friends were somewhere else, he was practically friends with the whole castle. I'm suprised you aren't being surrounded by a Potter fan club... she said rolled her eyes and looking him up and down slightly. Shaking her head slightly as he winked again. He must have something in his eye. Absent-mindedly she tossed the snitch up in the air before catching it. Her green eyes fixed on James. Sighing heavily she grinned as he said he wanted the snitch back. your snitch? my my Potter.. someones greedy. she teased, letting her white teeth sparkle before putting on a little half-smile/smirk on her lips. Tossing her hair back again she shivered slightly as a breeze started to blow. It was getting near supper time, but Andromeda did not really feel like moving. She smirked as his eyes caressed her body I saw that look James. she said sitting up and looking him teasingly in the eye. Still tossing the snitch just out of his reach. Andi giggled slightly, he had said please. She did not think stuck-up boys like him knew how to.. But alas, he did. There was only one way to get something back from Andromeda. He would never guess it either. She shook her head, letting an innocent smirk play on her lips. I've grown quite fond of your snitch actually.. James she said. Putting emphasis on the your. She had a feeling this boy didn't even know her name. He called her brother, Malfoy.. what was she? surely he would never call her Andi. That was for friends and family only. her father called her princess.... Continueing to play with the snitch she pondered giving it back to him.

Just as suddenly as the wind changes so did Malfoy's mood. James remembered his father telling him you could never understand the moods of women, and he ardently agreed at this moment. Why, just minutes ago she had been mad at him because he had sat beside her, and now she teased him. It was almost as if she was flirting with him. James realized this with a start, then settled back down into the easy rythym he knew so well. "Nah, that was just my dad. I'm surprised your brother isn't here though. Isn't he supposed to take care of you?" Maybe that had been a tad harsh, but oh well, it was said and it was done. James looked down, slightly ashamed of himself before she started up again. "Finders keepers, as I remember." Finally! She had smiled and giggled, apparently that old saying was right, and smiles were contagious. A sudden rumble surprised James, and he looked worridly up at the castle, knowing someone would worry about him if he tarried to long and was late for dinner. Who? The list was long. Albus, Lily, Teddy, Adam, and Rose were all contenders, and they were just the beginning. Maybe she was right, maybe he did have a bit of a club. But they were really just family, and family sticks together. Her sudden remark on his wandering eyes didn't even make him stumble. For some reason he'd heard that before. "What can I say? I'm a rogue." He said cheerfully, his hazel eyes sparking with laughter just barely contained in his throat. A flase look of sadness crossed over his features at her words. "I'm sorry to hear that Andromeda. But if there's one thing a sister's taught me, it's what you have to do to make a girl give something up." During that rather long sentence James had surreptiously been moving nearer to Andromeda, preparing for what he knew was about to come. With a wild, laughing grin he leaped. A lock of black hair fell across his forehead, surely begging forgivness for what he was about to do. His ahnds stretched out and met her stomach before tickling mercilessly. What can I say? He wanted his snitch back.

Andromeda glared at him slightly, rolling her eyes. She hated how her father made her brother dog her. Daddy wants him to protect me from guys like you.. he somehow thinks I would run off with someone like you she said coldly. A playful glint in her eyes as it started to grow dark over them. Andromeda looked up and then heard finders keepers... taht proves it's mine. I found it she teased flashing him the snitch once more before placing it in the inner pocket of her robes. As the conversation switched to his wandering eyes she blushed slightly. rogue eyes? thats a new one. usually its that I had cat hair on my robes. she said rolling her emerald green eyes once more. Guys were stupid... especially this one. But then, why was she blushing and giggling.. and flirting. Gahh, this was all so weird, not to mention forbidden! a Gryffindor with a Slytherin? no worse, a Potter with a Malfoy! that was pure scandal. Andromeda noticed a mock sadness and she giggled You'll never ever get it she said. Gasping as he reached out and started to tickle her. Andi fell back in the grass and sarted laughing. Grabbing his hands she tried to get him to stop as she squealed slightly, kicking her feet she pulled James down ontop of her. james stop it! she squealed, laughing uncontrollably.

His diguise was possibly better than an invisibility cloak, the only trouble he had to stay turned away so that the Joker card on his hip wouldn't give him a total give away. He'd had this feeling James was going to do something and he wanted to find out. He basically just saw him and that Malfoy girl playing with a snitch. Sussing the competition... Good man. He looked at the grass and frowned at the other horses around him. Almost identical to the the light bays with a dark browny black mane and tail Adam was happy to staya nd look like a full horse. They were free to roam and so he waited for the oppitunity when the horse beside him moved giving him the chance the move closer to hear them. However he stupidly turned the wrong way, yet didn't notice and walked right up to the showing clearly to James who he was.

However James seemed to into the convisation and Adam was to intent on finding out about it. Then he couldn't stay in this form any longer he pushed himself out of it and grabbed his 11.5 inch sycamour wand the power of the powdered unicorn horn core seering through his arm. Looking directly at him he frowned with fury and gave a small clear of his throat.
"Traitor..."
His words were clear enough as he walked slowley away, waiting for an apology and explanation or anything. The breeze rustled our him, the waters rippling reflection was his aim, he needed to just sit by the banks or something. About a year ago, stupidly when Adam and James had found alcohol Adams mind served into force that he had a twin named Mada... However funny this memory was Adam threw it away as he walked.

James gave out a full-throated laugh as Andromeda subtley pulled him on top of her. Finally, one hand still tickling her, he managed to reach up and grab the snitch, who's wings were fluttering vainly against her tight grasp. His solution reached he levered himself off of the Slytherin, still remaing above her. "And what would your brother say about this?" Leaning down he gave her a quick kiss on the lips, distracted from what her beauty truly deserved by a clear voice that thundered across his mind. Shit. Adam. Like lightning James was off the girl and standing straight before his Quidditch Captain and cousin. Vainly he straightened his scarlet robes, noting a vibrant green grass stain on the knee. Oh well. One large hand was dragged through his hair, wondering how Adam had gotten so close without him hearing his foot steps. Well duh. Cursing himself mentally James searched his mind for a suitable explanation, knowing if he drew his wand there would be no getting out of this. "Oh, hey Adam! I was just, er, getting my snitch back. She stole it, you see." There was no way in the world Adam would beleive that. Not only were they cousins, but they had gotten drunk together, joked about Mada, learned how to fly together. Adam had even come to James abotu dting advice, a fact that still managed to boggle his mind. James glanced over at Andi apologeticly, then turned back to face his fate of life in a bucket with his head held high.

His eyes looked shamefully to James his lips fighting with the urge to curl into a viscious snarl, somehow when angry Adam had a certain thing, unmissable by almost anyone who knew him well, where he had to snarl. It was a joke when he was little but of course the one who made it was James, he seemed to always find a way to creep into his memories. Yes they were as thick as theives, typically almost brothers the fact they were so close shocked a lot of people although they just clicked. The wind from behind his ruffled his rough lying hair as he stared, almost wishing he was burning a whole, through James and then to his forehead.
"Oh so the snitch was down her throat and you had to preform CPR was it?! You sicken me James and I thought 'Oh he's sensible enough he wouldn't dare do anything... Well I was wrong. What if I told your father, what do you think he'd say? Yes I know he's not wholey going to come and kill the bloody daughter of a criminal but you think he'd be proud his son is making out with his enemies daughter?"

Adams head dropped to the ground the momenterily lifted, still his face was stern yet slowley it softened and blankly hung facing his cousin square on. He didn't care if James stunned him or did anything to him he was to shocked to see what he'd seen.

Andi continued to giggle as he grabbed the snitch. Gasping as he pulled himself off her slightly, yet holding himself up over her she grinned. he would be furious.. accuse you of forcing yourself apon me and daddy would no doubt visit your parents. but who cares she said, blushing as he kissed her she took the front og his robes and brought him closer. Kissing him properly, Andi closed her eyes, slipping her tounge into his mouth gently, after a moment she let her lips linger on his. Blushing as his eyes linger over her body once more. Andi bit her lip, looking gently into his hazel eyes, no longer were they mud like to her.. hearing a voice she jumped, it was Adam Weasley.. great, just wonderful. She was well aware on how fast James jumped off her and she looked at the ground before glaring up at Adam, he ruined her perfect moment. Swallowing hard she looked from James to Adam, a sheepish pout on her face as she sat up. Stole the snitch? okay, she kind of did.. but surely he would have just dueled with her if he wanted to get it back. That was a lame excuse. Where as she stayed sitting, James was up in a flash. She saw the apoligetic look and nodded, it was perfectly understandable.. if it was her brother no doubt she would be feeling bad too. But why now? Andromeda liked James, alot.. She was in way over her head here.. picking herself up she got her bag and dusted herself.. however she stood planted to the ground. She was not leaving. Andi heared everything Adam said she she bowed her head slightly. Feeling her throat tighten and a few tears come to her eyes she quickly brushed them away. Looking back up, her emerald eyes slightly glossy.

A snarl curled across Adam's face, and James couldn't help but grin. It was, however, very small, since he was still in fear of his life. Back when they had hardly even heard of Hogwarts James had once joked about Adam's tendency to snarl when he was angry. Every single time. It was like no matter how much he tried to hide his anger, it could always be seen in the snarl on his lips. It was amusing until James realized this was almost the first time Adam had snarled at him. Slytherins and Rose would be used to the expression, but James? No way. They were like brothers, almost closer then the twins. The Gryffindor sagged, his shoulders slumping. Why had he kissed teh girl? Sure, she was beautiful, sure she was funny, and smart. But she was a Slytherin, and their father's hated each other. "Adam, I'm sorry..." James glanced back at Andromeda and shut off whatever apology he was about to splurge out to his cousin, simply because it wasn't true. "No, ya know what, I'm not. I'm glad. It's my life and you can just shove your head down a bloody hole for all I bloody care. And yes, I did feel the need to use CPR, thank you very much. She was having trouble breathing." Once again James looked back, and once again he winked. It wasn't her fault, and besides, that long blonde hair was starting to look less like ferret's tails and more like wheat.

Adam bit his lip hard, possibly breaking the skin inside his mouth yet he couldn't taste blood right now, to stop his famous snarl. His eyes narrowed as he turned his head to the side and sighed.
"You know James, you're probably right but the fact is you know how our family would basically murder you for this. Perhaps say I told someone? Maybe a nice old friend of mine who knows just about every Slytherin there is, might be a good friend of the malfoy's one of them the rumors spread right to their bloody masion. How would you feel about that?"
His head was pushed forward forcing his hair to bounce along with it, eyes burning James from what he felt he hadn't blinked in ages although maybe he just had. He couldn't feel anything anymore, he felt cold with dissapointment and a small bit of guilt for firstly spying and secondly threatening his best friend and his new missis. For one thing it wouldn't last, or maybe that was wishful thinking.

"Although..."
His voice was barley a whisper as a small smile, nothing powerful but a change to his snarling mouth.
"Maybe I won't tell, maybe it could just wash over me, although you know me mr. loudmouth here."
He half crossed his arms rubbing his arm to try and make himself warmer however he'd been flushed with heat all of a sudden making him seem happier about the whole thing. He could only think what was coming for him after his sudden change of mood had swayed out of his lips self conciously.
