matthew.malfoy Some things had to be learned the hard way, at least that's what he thought. He stepped into the common room, nodding at people he hadn't seen in months. The girls tried to get his attention. So somethings never changed.
Matthew Malfoy was home.
A coldness settled into his eyes, only one of the things that was different about him. He'd gotten taller, topping out at about 6'2. His good looks had matured some, but it was his eyes that told the real story. The anger, the burning rage, desire for revenge...for power. Matthew had stormed out ofhis home after a betrayal by the one he had called father, leaving behind everything in order to seek his destiney. Even his sister.
Andromeda Malfoy was like her brother in many ways, whether she wished to admit it or not. Matthew knew she was perfectly capable of handling herself and dealing with her father, otherwise he would not have left her the way he had done. So if she was angry and refused to understand what he'd done, so be it. Piercing green eyes surveyed the throngs of people moving in and out, seraching for his little sister. He crossed his arms over the tight-fitting blue shirt and leaned casually against the mantle by the fire, deceptively calm and innocent looking. A load of bull.

Ah detention, that was something Andromeda seemed to be getting alot of since she returned only a week before. Her time at home changed her, she grew bitter and even more power hungry. The shreds of good in her were gone, replaced by hate and evil. Andromeda was now in the death eaters and hated anything to do with the Potters... especially their son James. He had been a flaw, thats all she thought of when he came up in conversation. A mere flaw. Her 'friends' knew she wouldn't talk about him, but a few Gryffindors still pestered her, she ended that today when she cast a charm to make their pants attack eachother. She had left them to deal with that while she had an amused look on her face and a red-faced teacher storming after her. Who cared if she got an owl home, her father sure wouldn't. She had made it more than clear that she did not like that woman he planned to marry. Her last day there she had left in a fit of rage after destroying half the manor. Draco Malfoy was a coward so he gave her whatever she wanted to avoid those now often bursts of rage. They were his fault.
Things had gotten worse since Matthew left home. Andromeda had become more bitter, the thought of her brother leaving her to deal with their 'family' alone sickened her. Where had he gone? she truly didn't care, she just wanted him back so she could scream at him. Walking into the common room she scanned the premisise with her forest green eyes. Looking at a blonde boy she glared, he was back. Dropping her bag she walked over and stood infront of him. Putting her hands on her hips she noticed he looked abit different, more mature. But Andi looked older now too. Her beautiful face was colder, but even more gorgeous that it had been. "WHERE THE HELL HAD YOU BEEN?!" she screamed at him, Andromeda didn't pay attention to the people who slowly started to creep out of the common room.
"YOU JUST LEFT ME IN THAT HOUSE WITH OUR SO CALLED FATHER!" she said again. When she had been little things fell off the shelves when she yelled, and now it happened again. Andromeda was unaware of the things that fell off the tables and mantle, She didn't care. "JUST LEFT ME TO COPE WITH THAT WHILE YOU WERE OFF DOING GOD KNOWS WHAT!" she said crossing her arms and scowling. This technically of saying she missed her brother, she'd never out right say it... but by screaming at him for just up and leaving, it meant she cared. Her green eyes brimmed with tears that made her pretty eyes shine with anger. She found it rather amusing that a few of their peers just sat there, as if in shock at her blowup. They hadn't seen one recently, mostly because Andromeda only fought like that with her brother, and he hadn't been around.

matthew.malfoy He spotted Andi before she saw him and a smirk crossed his features. His baby sister had grown up in his absence, becoming more of what she was always meant to be. Obviously the fiasco with the Potter boy had helped the change come about. He'd never approved of her decision to date the fool.
An amused expression settled on Matthew's face as she began to scream at him. So she had missed him after all. His assumption had been correct, yes she was going to be angry that he'd left her. She would get over it, Matthew had had no choice. When her voice died down, he noticed the shock written on some oftheir peers. He glared at them pointedly, what did they think this was, a peep show?
"What, no welcome back? No I missed you? No 'I'm glad you're home Matt?' Maybe I should've stayed gone." Matthew spoke mockingly, his expression unreadable as he studied the angry green eyes of Andromeda. He'd been by to pay Draco a visit and the fear he'd seen written in Draco's eyes had been worth it all. Even leaving behind his sister to deal with all of his crap. He pushed off the mantle and walked towards his sister. Folding his arms around her stiff frame, he pulled her to his chest and rested his chin on her head.
"I would never have left if I didn't think you could handle yourself in that situation. It was the only way for me to learn magic that would help me make Draco pay."

The amused expression on her face made her only more angry. Her eyes flashed red like they did when she was angry before settling to a darker green than normal. Crossing her arms she shifted her weight onto her other foot and rolled her eyes at his comment. "I only wanted you back so I could freak at you." she said angrily. "you can leave again" she said pointing at the opening to leave the common room. A playfulness hinted in her eyes at that and she looked around at the shocked faces. They were used to seeing Andromeda and Matthew fight, it was what they did. If the didn't love eachother more than almost everything they wouldn't get mad at the tiniest things.
Andi smiled as he hugged her. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders she put her head on his chest and listened to him talking in a warmer tone. "yeah yeah yeah, next time tell me. Daddy was really upset that you left. So naturally, I milked it and got a new broom." she said airily. She was still the spoiled brat he knew, but she liked getting what she wanted. "Frae was really upset you left, you were an asshole to leave her without warning" she said pulling away and looking him in the eye. Pushing her longe blonde hair back she nodded to a few friends who walked by and waved at her. Rolling her eyes to their backs she shook her head "I can't wait to get the hell out of here" she grumbled...
As a group of fellow quidditch players walked by, one of them grabbed her ass. Andromeda glared at him before crossing her arms. She knew him well, when she was getting over James she did some things she regretted. She hooked up with a few Slytherin guys a few times, Matthew didn't know and she didn't want him to know. Glaring at the guy she bit her bottom lip. She couldn't do anything about it because then Matthew would find out, and if he was still as over-protective as before, she'd be dead. She regretted doing it now, but at the time it made her feel better. Andromeda didn't even know the name of the guy who took her virginity. Thats how bad it had been.

"Well 'daddy' wasn't too thrilled to have me back. Not after the...er..discussion we had."
Matthew said icily, his green eyes flashing peculiarly at the memory of what had occured between himself and Draco. The coward hadn't even put up a fight, he'd simply run. Matthew released Andi as she pulled back to tell him off some more. He merely raised an eyebrow.
"Frae knows that the only way I would leave her would be if I had a very good reason. And I do."
Matthew glanced at the Quidditch players as they filed by. Anger erupted again as he saw the guy grab his sister. Stretching out one arm almost lazily, he pulled the guy close and swung a sharp right to his face. Pushing him away contemptuously, he waved his wand and hexed the couch to chase him around the common room.
"Touch her again like that and see if that's all I do."
He growled harshly in reply to the guy's pleas for him to call the couch off. MAtthew ignored the commotion and looked pointedly at Andromeda. Jut what exactly had she been up to since he'd been gone. Obviously nothing nice, but he couldn't really say anything to her. Look at what he'd been like once.
"Care to explain?"
Matthew asked calmly. He was no fool. That same guy would never have dared accost Andromeda Malfoy like that, whether Matthew was around or not. Something had happened to change things.

Andromeda crossed her arms and shifted her weight, raising an eyebrow in amusemen, "what did you two discuss, exactly?" she asked with interest. Draco had already said he was going to scorch Matthew off the family tree they had in their lounge. That was until Andromeda told her father to take her off as well then. That shut him up fast. "daddy was going to take you off the family tree, until I told him if he did he could take me off there too" she said rolling her eyes. Listening to him talk about Frae she shrugged "are you two breaking up?" she asked quietly, she didn't want to be present to see what Frae would do to her brother if that was the case. Frae wasn't the nicest Slytherin girl around.
Andromeda rolled her eyes and watched in amusement as her brother did exactly what she expected him to. Some things never changed. She knew Matthew would never let guys get away with small things like that, he cared for her to much. She remembered all the boys he had chased away when she was younger, and how angry he had been when he found out she was dating Potter. As the boy gave up on Matthew and went to pleading to Andromeda she shook her head, only to be angered when he said something revolting. "c'mon Andi! I know I didn't get a chance to pay for your services yet... but can we compromise?" Andromeda's eyes flashed red as she turned towards him. Raising her wand she set the couch off him, before flicking the wand once more. " Sectumsempra: she said angrily.
Looking back at her brother lightly she shook her head "no, I don't actually" she said cooly. brushing past him she took his hand and pulled him into the corner, casting a muffling charm she sighed, now they were out of earshot to nasty rumor starters. " I did some things I regret..." she said gently. Looking down she leaned against the wall. She hadn't really told anyone, and hated to let her gaurd down. But this was her brother. The commonroom seemed to empty and she let a few tears slide down her beautiful face. " After James and I broke up I was heartbroken..." she started, inhaling deeply she crossed her arms over her chest. " I started not caring, especially after mom died and you left. So, I started drinking more than usual, and I partied alot... I ended up sleeping around abit." she said softly. Wiping her tears she looked over at Caleb, his friends had managed to repair most of the damage she had caused " Caleb was the worst, he never left me alone... and he still doesn't. But he knows your back, so he doesn't bug me as often, knowing what your like" she said looking up at her brother for support.

"No we aren't breaking up."
Matthew gave a humorless little laugh, clenching his fist against his side. What did they discuss? Well it was more of Matthew telling him exactly how things were going to be done and then beating the bloody hell out of him.
"Well let's just say blonde bimbo probably won't be around much longer. And neither will he if he keeps it up."
He said rather darkly. Matthew started towards the boy as he spoke to Andi with words of filth in his mouth, but Andi was quicker. Blood spurted from the wound she inflicted and he was gratified to see the fool fall to the ground. He kicked him roughly towards his little friends and gave them a menacing glare as one dared to draw his wand.
"Try it asshole."
Matthew stated rather threateningly before turning his attention to Andi. He let her lead him to a corner and leaned against the wall opposite her, his arms folded impassivley against his chest. He let her pour out her heart, his anger building as she told him of her heartache and how she'd tried to kill it. But it wasn't her he was angry at. It was everything that had caused her to be everything he never wanted for her. Matthew pulled her to him again, stroking her golden locks lovingly.
"He won't mess with you again. Neither will the rest of them."
He promised her, shooting Caleb a glare as he managed to heal himself and stand to his feet again.

Andromeda rolled her eyes "they're getting married Matthew." she said angrily. Tossing her blonde curls over her shoulder she sighed "I'm not going to the wedding, and when they get back from their honeymoon her bags will be packed to leave" she sneered. That woman was not moving into their manor, nor would she EVER be considered as a step-mother for Andromeda. Seeing Matthew go twards the boy she was glad she got there first. What she did eas harsh, but by the look in his eye, her brother would have torn him limb from limb.
"thank you Matthew" she said as her body shook with gentle sobs onto his shoulder. He truly was more of a father then she had ever had. Pulling away she let herself lean against the wall and slide to the floor, crossing her arms again and doing a simple charm to change her skirt into pajama pants. Bringing her knees to her chest she wiped her tears and looked up at him with glistening eyes " I am never letting myself fall in love again. You were right... there's no such thing as love" she said angrily.
Maybe that wasn't true, after all, Andromeda had noticed she had feelings for Adonis... he was a family friend who she had known her whole life. When they were younger they pretended to be married, wearing candy rings and kissing eachother cheeks. Looking up at her brother she tried to change teh subject. "have you spoken to Adonis since you returned?" she asked lightly, her eyes still showed pain, luckily hiding a small ember of passion when his name was brought up.
oc// ack! short.

Matthew sighed at his sister's refusal to take a hint. But then again..he had wiped the blood off his hands. Frae had seen it, but Andi hadn't. Matthew had no desire to change that, it was better if she didn't know for now. He sat on the floor next to her and leaned slightly on her shoulder with his. Matthew's head lolled back against the wall and he closed his eyes. He was exhausted considering he hadn't slept in a couple of days.
"Ah Andi. There's love, there really is. And you know, that coming from me is pretty significant."
he'd been wrong about what he'd said before. That was before he knew Frae cared about him. Matthew sighed softly and fell silent. He'd almost fallen asleep when Andi spoke again.
"Adonis? No, haven't seen him. Don't think he likes me much anyways. Not since that day I caught the two of you in the garden and threatened to curse the pants off of him if he touched you again."
Matt opened one eye and turned his head to see her better. If he didn't knwo better, he could almost swear there was a hint of something in Andromeda's voice about him.
