Joy was swamped with homework, and had found a shady spot by the lake. The hufflepuff smiled. Her hand went to her bad, where she pulled out a book titled,"A Standered book of Spells Grade One" She began to write. She was intent on her work.

Alex had just been to the owlery, sending a reply letter to his ten year old sister back home. They were both muggle born, and she hadn't really been showing magical tendencies, so she had written him for reassurance. They both hoped dearly that she'd get her letter next year, but Alex worried that she hadn't gotten the wizard gene that he had. But they wouldn't find out for another year, and he had reminded her of that in his letter. Now, he walked down to the lake, looking to the sky and watching his owl head off with the letter. He arrived by the lake and looked onto the water for a moment, tucking his hands into his hufflepuff robes. Soon he looked around, spotting a girl sitting in the grass with a book in her hand. He strode towards her, sitting down by her.
"Hey there. I'm Alex. Not interrupting, am I?"

"No, Of course not." The truth was, there was a wierd flip in her cheast. She liked it. " I'm Joy. What House are you In?" He was hadsome, normal looking. Unsual, here there was the beatiful and the geeky . There rarly was a normal looking person, but Joy herself, and this boy was normal.

"Nice to meet you, Joy."
He said sweetly, smiling at her. She looked younger than him. maybe a first year? But it wasn't like age mattered much at hogwarts. I mean, first years hung out with sixth years even, and nobody thought anything of it. Age was a stupid thing to base relationships off of. So the fact that she looked young didn't really bother him.
"hufflepuff. you?"

He nodded, smiling softly. He hadn't seen her in the common room, but perhaps that was due to his own cluelessness.
"Well, there's not much to tell." He said simply, smiling at Joy kindly. "I'm a muggle born. Fourth year. Quidditch Player. I think I'll join the team, but I'm not sure if they're looking for a seeker or not."
He said this simply. No, there wasn't really anything special about him. he was just a regular kid.
"tell me about you."

"Blood Tratior. " She said. "My whole family. We're purebloods, but I hate that word. I don't think there's a seeker." She smiled. A Muggle Born! Perfect! He could tell her all about it. She found muggles fasniating, and the fact that he was free to tell her was great as well. That meant he was proud of it. She smiled at little "What Year are you?"

He smiled softly as she spoke, thinking about her words. He hated that title...blood traitor. he thought being a pureblood and not caring about it was humble, kind, and brave. Liking muggle borns didn't make you to a traitor to anyone. Some purebloods were stuck up, and hated his kind of wizards--muggle born ones. But she was obviously a lot more down-to-earth about it. He liked that.
"Fourth. You?"
He said, snapping back out of his thoughts.

"First." She said lightly. He position on blood was a subject she though nothing of. It made no diffrece weather you were a muggle-born. Even that was a terrible calling. Diffrent Wizards was a better term, but the best was wizard. The diffrence was nothing, nothing at all.

He simply nodded. Alex shifted his weight and put his arms behind him, leaning down to prop himself up on his elbows. He looked at Joy, smiling softly. She was awfully pretty. The whole three year age difference kind of dissapointed him...she was cute, he might even like her after he got to know her. But what was three years? Anyways, that didn't matter. He'd deal with that when he came to it.
"So what are you writing?"
He said, glancing down at her parchment.

"Charms Essay." She said "Bit late, accualy." He was cute. Realy cute. She blushed. She ran her finger though her hair, and she smiled, her light gray eyes shone. The Sun has bright on her head, making her hair feel hot. She kept blushing, and wasn't sure why.

Alex smiled, nodding. "Well, let me know if you need any help. I was a pro at charms." He said, laughing softly. He wasn't exactly a pro, but he'd had three years of it and figured he knew a little something.

"A pro, Eh?" She said, pretending to be doubtful. The nice days would end soon, and snow would coat the many moutians and hill that suround the catle. The ground wouldn't be the soft grass, but crunchy snow, and she'd have to challnge conor to a snowball fight. Maybe Alex would join the fun.
She'd sapced for a second, but came back to earth, hoping he hadn't said anything.
