.x. .x. A D A M
He looked terrible. Perhaps worse than the day it all started, still rather drained of colour but he looked almost like he had staved for a month he had lost that much weight. It had only been four days and he was supposed to stay home for a while but he couldn't and thankfully his father supported him thinking that he was 'happy to learn'. Wrong. Quidditch. It was the one thing he was thinking, actually maybe not maybe he was thinking too much at once. Had Rose told? Was James and him ever going to speak? Was Addie okay? Would they win? It was all swelling inside his overworking brain which right now was drained of energy. He had been eating just not a lot and with his high metabilism he had to eat a lot not to loose weight, in other words putting on weight was almost impossible which in some ways was good and in other not so good. His clothes looked even more baggy than they were before and even then they were baggy.
He ran a hand through his hair a ittle shakily as he looked at the almost deserted grounds of hogwarts. He smiled weakly and began slowley to walk now and then pausing to put a hand to his stomach were it was heavily bandaged. Apparently the fact that when he was younger he had drank some poison which wasn't harmful, or as they thought then, his skin healed slowley even with the use of magic and so he had a gaping big wound which was stapled like a muggle wound as well as stiched. The doctors had warned any physical activity may cause a hernia or the wound to re-open but he could care less he was going to help his team whether they wanted him to or not. It wasn't exactly hard to say he was a devoted captain. His grey eyes, now rather dull, glanced up to the door of the castle. It was a long way off yet but he couldn't show he was ill. He strode casually up the path wincing once or twince but scolding himself mentally for it. This was going to be difficult.

Four days is a very very long time. Alot can happen in four days that is true. Friendships can be made and broken, nuclear war could break out and be over through the power of mutually assured destruction. An entire city could be razed to the ground by the powers of nature alone. Civilisation could be changed forever and it would still only have been within the space of four days. Four little days. Or something entirely less ordinary could happen. A friend could be missed, and love could be found.
Ebiny felt as though she was walking on air. Her smile stretched her face and she felt such love and hapiness for all the world it seemed infectious. People passing were smiling back at her, although she knew that it was probably morea smirk of derision than a smile of friendliness it was not the time to care. Her mood was still too good to be bought down. She all but danced, leaping over the last few steps and out into the grounds.
In a pathetic fallacy the weather was sunny and unseasonably warm for the time of year, reflecting perfectly her mood, and her hapiness notched up again. She strode out over teh slpoing lawns bag on one shoulder, red hair flowing out behind her like in some kind of a dream. She twirled her hair around one finger as she walked, smiling at the recent memories. Was this what it felt like to be in love? And just at the edge of her vision she saw a familiar figure, another smile tweaked her mouth, she changed her course.
Nearing the silhoette she saw that she had been right, it was Adam, her friend Adam, she had not seen him i four days mperhaps more and wanted to tel him her news. So she turned her course towards him half skipping with every step. Nearer, nearer. She ran at him the last few steps. Pulling herself up to hug himgently or else wond herself on his elbow.
Adam! she bounced grinning at him Oh Adam I'm so happy! you'll never guess! How are you? I've not seen you in a while. she tried to stop herself from jumping up and down as her muscles started to fatigue and to prevent her from movement for a few moments. She stoof still finally at his side, Smiling at her friend.

He stopped abruptly as a shooting pain fell diagonally across the wound and he placed a hand to his stomach. It was heavily bandaged yet still he looked fragile, thin and nothing like a stuffed sausage. Yes boys could be concious of their images too, Adam just made himself look pleasant and now he was trying to impress a none existing thing going on between Adeline and him he had to try extra hard. His bright green converses slid across the gravel slowley as he turned lightly but a small figure running toward him seemed to stop him from sitting. He smiled lightly, he didn't want anyone to know. The freshly trimmed hair on his head rustled with only centimeters actually off the length still with a different feel and it made a shiver fall down his back. The sudden hug made him grunt with pain even though it was gentle and a hand fell straight back to where it was only moments before. "Hey Eb... You seem happy for once. What is it?"
He couldn't answer her question, he didn't want to dim her mood and it wasn't often his friend was actually quite overjoyed as much as this. He placed a slightly false but at the same time genuin smile on his face but his eyes told a different story of pain and simple guilt. He was guilty about the fact that his mother and father were going to argue for weeks maybe about the fact Ron snuck Adam back to Hogwarts after Adam had pleaded with both parents to let him back to atleast 'watch the quidditch match and find a decent replacment'. In other words that meant 'to play the quidditch match and risk my life for the fact theres no chance that I'm going to be able to do anything exactly worth while which also doens't account to more injury'. Yes the complicated mind of the male. Sports, girls and in this case school work, family, chocolate, Rose, chocolate, Addeline, pranks, rats, Bloo, James, Malfoys and of course chocolate...

Sometimes people are willing to forgoe informationa nd not notice that een those closest to them have changed inexplicably. Other times they are not, it depends on their frame of mind. Ebony did notice his avoidance of the question, but she had spent so much time in a similar state herself that she did not press the matter. Instead she let herself feel happy.
Trying not to bounc eup and down she started to relate waht had happened, trying to keep herself speaking slow enough to speak. Well I got myself all turned around and I got ont he team was a beater> cn you imagine? I found a use for the reflexes. And theres this girl and sehs a werewolf too and this other girl and she said she thinks she might bbe Bi and i really like her and and... she paused breathing deeply. Oh its just so wonderful! her voice rose sharlply in oitch at the last word and then she laughed at herself.
Taking a few deep calming breaths she analysed herfriend. He seemed diffrent some how but she could not decide why. She half thought to prusue the matter but she did not, suspecting that he would say when he was ready. Looking forward to the match? she added as an aftethought.

A more friendly smile seem to form on his lips, he found Ebony somehow mood lifting whenever she was like this and it was nice to see a familiar face who wasn't going to scream on at him asking if he was ok everytime his hand shifted slightly over his stomach. That was annoying, as for over reacting mothers Hermione was just one way of discribing it. He had been sent home and stayed there a day and she was there almost all the time and when she had to go she placed a very old house elf in the room and placed a charm so she could watch them. She had channelled so many different spells so she could fufill Adams wishes that he may aswell have been in a coma for the ammount of attention, it was only an opperation after all. Yes he had finally gotten it all out of his parents what was wrong with hima nd he was suprized at first yet he understood and didn't blame either of them. The poison in his body stopped him healing as fast, so what? "Thats Great."
Trying to sound excited in a hoarse whisper was hard, more hard than perhaps many other things yet it was obvious that Adam was only really half there but still full cocious, maybe it was tiredness. He shuffled his feet and sighed lightly before playing his usual cheeky grin, which looked more like a grimace, on his face and nodding lightly. "Of Course! We are going to kill those snakes!" He tried to make himself look enthusiastic and ready for it but instead seemed shock still. He was tearing up inside and it was just too harsh. He sighed and began walking off the path into the shade of some trees away from the view of everything but the forrest. It was slightly unnerving and he was implying his friend would follow he needed to just tell someone who wasn't against him at this time for playing quidditch, someone who understood the significance of this game. Just like Ebony.

Sometimes its better not to ask and other times it is. Its hard to tell what it is at the time though and the enefit of hindsight can make evey desicion seem foolish. Hindsight, if only we had it before hand would be a wonderful thing. Ebony opted not to mention it outright but more to make a veiled refference. Because sure as Hell Adam did not look well.
Yeah she gave a happy sort of a little sigh and smiled at her own memories before returning herself to the more important matter. So you think your ready for the match then? Burnt all the chocolate off in time she joked, Or are you hoping they wont noticce how unfit you are? she grinned to show she was joking, wondering if he would hear her veiled worries. For it was unlike him to talk in a hoarse whisper. Ebony felt a twinge of worry.

Adam carefully cleared his throat to try and make himself sound more healthy but the wince that was caused by the sudden movment spoiled his plan. He let his arm drap across his stomache slightly but casually and then frowned playfully at his friend. "I'm as fit as...er... ever... sorta, not really..." He turned his body slightly facing toward the bushes rather than the open grounds and ran a hand through his sandy hair. His blue eyes were cast to the ground. He hated having to hear himself lie when it was obvious by his actions and his voice he wasn't himself. Well it wans't his fault the stupid spell for automatic breathing was leaving him with side effects. "Apart from the fact I'm been in Mungo's for the past few days. Nothing serious. Well actually I don't know but don't say anything. I'm playing in the game!" His reaction was slightly agressive and a sorry, guilty expression fell across his face as he turned to Ebony.
The bandages were fully enclosing his torso stopping him looking as thin as he was, strange how much he could change in a few days. Well actually he hadn't been eating properly since James and now he didn't even get to scowl at him from the end of a corridor because he never saw him around nowadays.
-urrrr badddd stupid songs are too happy lol -

e b o n y Fear, worry, trepidation, love and animosity. All different eotions, often experience when a love one attends hospital, less commonly experienced in quick sucsession when told by a loved one that they have been to hospital. Then there was Ebony. Nothing seriouse he said, and she half wanted to laugh, Nothing serious? she questioned, You're practically holding your self together but she was smiling at him, understanding. She didn't need to say that she wouldn't try to stop heim playing, she knew he would understand. She looked at him slowly, trying to see how hard it had tekn him, He looked terrible it was true but Ebony wasn't going to say that, cause thats what friends are for. Right? -ooo nastyneses noo muse-
