xx. ADDIE LOVEGOOD
-Finally, back at Hogwarts. Sure, she loved the summer holidays because she could spend time with her mother, but there really wasn't anything better than this school. She had missed her friends dearly, as well as this large stadium in which she could practice. At home, she lived in the mountains and they didn't provide for much even ground to practice on. So after Addie arrived at Hogwarts, she went to the great hall, unpacked her things, and then headed straight for the Quidditch stadium. She was adorned in new robes in the Ravenclaw colors. Somehow she had managed to outgrow her old ones in the summer. Her wand, (Mahogany with unicorn hair, 11 inches) was in a pocket within her robs, and her broom (a newer model of the Phantom Phlyer) was in her left hand. As she strode out to the stadium, she entered the shed and grabbed a spare quaffle to practice with.
She mounted her loyal broom and went flying skyward. She did a few laps around the pitch before slowing to hover around the goal rings. She then began to practice her aim, throwing goals from odd places and speeds. Every time she threw one, whether it missed or not, she merely whispered "Accio, quaffle" and it came whizzing back into her hands for her to try again. It was a bit boring to practice without a keeper, but at least she could work on her aim.

His run was quick as he ran into the stadium of which he'd missed so much over the summer, there was only so much you could take from someone before quidditch 'for fun' became an annoying critique ring. He mounted his broom and slowley went around the stadium his feet only inches from the floor, he was in a world of his own as he accented into the air, narrowly missing a quaffle as he ducked just below the center hoop, and almost knocking himself off in the process he leant back on the broom which hovered lazily to steady himself and laughed at his clumbsy mind, he didn't even bother looking to see if anyone else was here before he came up. A mistake from the thoughts of who it could be, possibly his sworn enemy Frae Vinxton the new Slytherin Captain, yet nothing could brase him from the face he saw just a little way off, at this he almost fell off again.
Lifting a hand from the broom he ran it through his rather shaggy looking hair and rolled his eyes, to others the two almost falls could have shaken them up yet Adam was used to his clumbsy ways at least last time he caught the quaffle while hanging onto the highest ring? Although he was pretty frightened of doing that sort of stunt again Adam was prepared for it unlike anything else, in fact he was prepared to die in the first match of the year to beat Slytherin. His teal eyes, which for the past however long had been staring at the end of the broom handel with a ghastly expression on his face. Watching Adeline after lifting his eyes made him smoothly mask the shock of how much everyone had changed over the summer. Although he'd never admit that he thought Frae had grown in beauty in the holidays he would for Adeline, he was attracted to her deeply although he tried to hide it once more although the fact the tips of his ears glowed a tint of red didn't help. She looked stunning even if in the middle of a sport and from what he'd guessed he'd started staring at her yet he could mask that... couldn't he? "H-Hey Addie,"

xx. ADELINE
Without paying much attention, she tossed the quaffle once more in the direction of a ring. However, the wind caught it and it blew a little to the left, nearly hitting someone else. Addie hadn't even noticed someone else was flying! She flew closer, to see that it was Adam. As he seemed to pitch off to the side and nearly fall off his broom, a look of concern crossed her features. But as he regained himself, she felt free to smile softly and giggle at his clumsiness. She whispered the retrieval spell under her breath and the quaffle was soon back in her hands. She hovered over towards Adam, smiling at him softly.
They had met a few years ago, but last term was when they really started becoming good friends. As strange as it was, they had a few mutual friends--all of them in different houses. Friendships didn't often work like that, but they had grown close enough anyways. Adam and Adeline had never exactly been best friends, but they certainly enjoyed eachothers company.
Hey, Adam. How was your holiday?
She said sweetly, her broom hovering before his. Her blonde hair had loosened from its ponytail and now cascaded a bit messily down her back. She raised one hand to her face, pushing her bangs out of her emerald green eyes.

His fingers fell to the back of his neck but quickly fell back to the broom handel in fear he would yet again be clumbsy enough to fly off the side. The metal image, although it should have been frightening, was quite amusing although he had to stop himself laughing because of the fact he'd look a little insane. The wind from beind him was a soft breeze and let him shift forward without much effort however he didn't move much before Addie spoke again. He thought about his summer and shrugged lightly, he hadn't done much than poison a house elf yet he was never going to tell anyone he murdered something that his mother was trying to save. She'd just said it was old age that Geke died from and that was good enough for him, other than that he'd gone and worked (with his father basically doing the magic touch) for money to get himself a tatoo. He was waiting to be killed for that one.
"The usual for me, apart from the tatoo... You?" His voice, from the fact he was more nervous talking to someone, who last year he was so comfortable around, than the fact they had a great distance to fall to the ground. However dispite his clumbsy nature Adam actually was a good flyer once he got going, in fact a ledgend in Keeper history being that he had risked death to stop quaffles by leaping off his broom or jumping off it forgetting he wans't on the ground. Other than that he was pretty normal at Quidditch, although that was mostly what he did apart from kicking the ball, hitting it away and most of the time saving the quaffles. He watched a few owls flutter past and frowned, he'd never seen them come over the quidditch pitch before but maybe thats because usually when he was here he was too entranced in breaking his neck.

She raised an eyebrow slightly at the mention of a tattoo. That was just like Adam. Sometimes he was so reserved, so plain. And then he'd go off and do something like that. Well, he was certainly...eccentric. She smiled softly, glancing over him in search of the tattoo. But as it wasn't on his face or arms, she wasn't able to see it. She'd have take his word for it, she supposed. She didn't inquire about the tattoo because she figured she had all year to find out about it.
Hm...how was her summer? She really hadn't done anything special. Hung out with a few muggle friends every once in a while. But as she couldn't bring them to her house, she spent a lot of the time in solitude. She only had like, two muggle friends and neither knew she was a witch. They'd probably get a bit suspicious if they saw her house, what with the thestrals and gnomes running around there. Over the summer she had studied a bit, flown a lot, and even seen a thestral give birth to a cute little colt that Addie had claimed as her own and named Moxie. Other than that, though, she really hadn't done anything.
"Nothing special, really."
Said Adeline simply. She glanced up, and tossed the Quaffle into a nearby ring, for she was tired of holding it. It went through and fell to the ground below them. She re positioned herself on the broom, straightening her back and readjusting the leather glove on her right hand, wincing a tad as it moved across a small cut on her hand--a pixie bite. Well, thats what she got for spending her summer with magical (and dangerous) creatures.

He watched the quaffle as it fkew neatly through the hoop and smiled, he would have complimented her but his mouth wouldn't work as easy as he thought. His reasons were unknown to him really, it was typical male behaviour wondering why the hell he was uncomfortable around someone he was good friends with. Then it struck him, mentally reminding himself to realize things quicker than they did he shook off all thoughts with a brain battle; You can love her! Why not? She's one of your good friends you idiot! But I do... Momenterilly his silence seemed to last forever to him, although the truth was it was a super speed battle that lasted seconds until he forced himself to pipe up and not seem like the shy person he felt he was. "I see you got captain, congradulations. I had this whole lecture from my dad which turned into a history of quidditch, I fell asleep and I'm already going to get murdered my my mother when I go back at Easter for 'damaging my body with ink'. You staying for Christmas or going back home?"
His eyes darted to the grounds and saw people stretching out near the lake, playing with cats and even attempting to go into the forest without success. Loosers, been in there tonnes it's easy to get in when your animagus. His thoughts, although cruel, were simple things that made Adam who he was. His mind seemed to work like a cocky, over confident person yet in reality he was the simple sixteen year old boy. As he looked over he could have sworn he recognise people even thought they were small dots and for a moment thought he saw Ebony and lip his lip harshly to stop himself laughing for another random reason. Diving down sharply he flew under Addie and up the other side smiling to himself. "I'm gonna try and stay on my broom this year, better than risking my life for a bloody ball. You see who made Slytherin Captain? Dracula's Daughter..." Everyone knew that Adam and Frae were the ledgends in fights, the display in the great hall at the begining of every term were comical, this term Frae had a new nickname Dracula's Daughter yet she still pained him when she called him 'elf boy' basically because of a fact that only one person knew. His own secret keeper.

Addie listened as he spoke, laughing softly as he mentioned he'd get killed for the tattoo. Adeline knew his mother, for she and Luna had been good friends. Hermione seemed like the type to fly off the handle about it--and probably back it up by some really good logic as well. She nodded her thanks as he congratulated her. He had gotten captain as well. It looked like she, adam, and Dracula's Daughter (as he so kindly called Frae) would be going against eachother. She hadn't a clue who the head captain for Hufflepuff was, though.
Christmas holiday...it felt so far away. But really, it wasn't that far from now. Just a few months. After all, it was almost October. But she had a feeling she'd stay at Hogwarts for christmas. Her mother didn't believe in the holiday, so it wasn't like they celebrated when she went home. Besides, she figured she'd like to stay here. She could relax, go to Hogsmeade, spend time with friends--something she didn't have when she was at home.
"I think I'll stay here. I'm not sure yet, though."
Said Addie, glancing down as he sped under her and to the other side. She flew slowly up a bit, then around him in a circle, finally stopping to face him once more.
"Thats a good idea."
She said, laughing. He had been known for falling off his broom and pulling crazy stunts. Trying to stay on was probably a good resolution. She grimaced and rolled her eyes as he mentioned Frae.
"Yeah, I heard. I can't stand her."
Said Adeline, annoyance in her voice. Sure, she didn't know Frae that well, but the fact that Adam hated her made Adeline feel the same way.

Sighing lightly he looked back to Addie and nodded, it was his favourite action because it could always be used when not listening and showing you understood, whihc most of the time Adam didn't. "Where you at the hall when we had our famous stand off? I thought it was quite entertaining but I had to walk out staight away, over the table because I can't do it in front of my sister she'll go bazerk or tell mum... Typical girl." He laughed at his words and threw Addie a playful look and left a large grin on his face making him look slightly dopey. "Not that I've got anything against girls or anything... Just little ones, And that DOESN'T mean height... I'm digging it deeper aren't I?"
His laugh followed him and he spiraled down to the ground and then acended at such a rate he almost forgot to stop, yet eventually sat exactly the same as he had only moments ago. Some days he wished he plainly younger than he was. Being older came with responsibility, Adam wasn't one for that role exactly.
-I rushed it...-

A smile spread across her face as he rambled on. When he concluded, she gave a nod and laughed, her shoulders shaking softly and her eyes sparkling.
"Just a bit."
She said, referring to his remark about digging himself deeper. She understood what he meant. Well, sort of. She wouldn't know though; she didn't have any younger siblings. She watched him as he spiraled downward, her gaze falling below her as she leaned over her broom to see him. Her smile didn't fade, and she sighed inwardly. She couldn't be happier that Adam had turned up today. She was hoping she'd get to see him. Last year she had had a bit of a crush on him, but gave it up over the summer. It seemed stupid to like him over the holidays, when nothing could happen. She had almost forgotten about it until she saw him again--and it ignited that little flame once more. But of course, she could never tell him how she felt. And ruin there friendship? She valued that too much to risk it. Because she was sure he didn't like her back, and it would make things so akward between them. No, she'd have to forget about it. His friendship meant to much for her to put it on the edge with the silly matters of love.
She leaned back on her broom as he came level with her once more. Now that she admitted to herself that she still liked him, she couldn't get it out of her head. She wanted so badly to let him know. To flirt, something that could progress this a bit. But she couldn't say much, could she? Just enough to see if he felt the same way. Of course, she may never find out if he liked her or not. She made a mental note to talk to Ebony. She might know something. "I missed you over the summer, Adam. " She said, surprised at her own boldness to say something like that. As simple as it was, it wasn't exactly hiding much. (but then again, she was probably overanalyzing everything at this point.) "I missed everyone...you know?" She added hurriedly, thinking she had looked like a fool saying that. This kind of made it less 'I missed you because I love you' and a little more, 'you're cool.' ....right?
-the most unorganized, rambling post I've ever written.-

He drop down a little because he wanted to see Addie from a different view and shut his eyes tightly leaning almost too far back on his broom yet he had skill enough to stop just at the right time. His mouth opened and then shut at her retaliation on his comment and then set a broad grin on his face, she was probably right anyway he dug himself deeper no matter what he did so that was one where he obviously did it. His eyes, although they had been open for a while now, felt shut as if he were sleeping and dreaming about this occasion like so many others, maybe a little more fantasy than this anyway. The brreze gathered into a large wind but it simply shifted his maroon robes and his hair while his head ducked down to let his skull face the winds. Adams hand slipped further down the handle as his face grinned back up at Addie. "Well I missed everyone too..."
His words where playful on the end of his tongue yet didn't have a sense of holding back on them, yet automatically resembled 'I missed you too' yet his joking nature already had that covered. "Oh and I missed you, Adeline." He chuckled to himself and flew up to Adeline waving his wand with a light motion making the quaffle rise to his arms. "Oh yeah I've got this silent spells thing mastered... Well I think I do..." He tossed the quaffle to his left toward Addie and then leant forward toward the hoops the grin still wide on his face, giving him a cheeky look. Tossing his feet up he baccked further toward the rings and stopped around a meter away from the middle rin yet slightly down from it eyes watching the blond with intrest.

x-She smiled as he spoke, watching him hover this way and that on his broom. Every time he moved she feared he'd fall off; but he always gracefully regained his posture. It wasn't that he was a bad flyer, he just didn't waste time on balance. She extended her arms to catch the quaffle as he threw it to her. As for silent spells, it was something she had always tried and practiced, but never mastered. It kind of surprised her; she usually didn't have a problem learning new spells and techniques. Oh well, she'd have to get Adam to teach her.
The wind rustled her navy robes, and sent her long blonde hair upwards into the breeze as she turned her broom towards the rings and went a bit closer. Adam placed himself before the middle one, then looked at her. It was obviously a challenge. They were a difficult match--both of them excellent at their position. They were both captains, after all. In the past their practice matches often ended in a draw, both of them thinking they were just too kind to defeat the other. This year though, it was different. They were captains and both wanted to win--they couldn't go easy on eachother.
She sped forward and a bit above Adam, her yellow bangs getting in her face. One hand was on her broom handle, and the other was lifted, anticipating the throw. She finally sped past Adam and launched the ball forward and out of her fingertips. After releasing it, she went in a small circle, slowing her broom down and watching Adam.

He watched her he knew his plan, it was different than usual almost a daring thing he was about to do. Perhaps it was something he just felt he neded to do, his eyes caught sight of the quaffle being thrown toward the hoops but instead of defending them he purposly missed letting it soar through. "See your too darn good!" His chuckles where light but audible as he flew over beside Addie grinning, now more cheesy than anything else. His hand pushed through his hair, flattening it momenterily before it sprung back up, and then dropped to his side carelessly. "Do we have any of the same classes this year? I'm taking the Auror corse..." He had no idea what else to say, if he'd said anything else he would have souned too pushy maybe even an idiot. It seemed harder to talk to someone who was such a good friend more than before.
