The dark blond pupil shifted through the tables slowley looking around to see if the old faces were back, as he did so he rubbed his knuckles on his robes. The dark fabric flowed gently as he started to walk quicker to the table he knew so well, Gryffindors. He was greeted slightly and congradulated on making Quidditch captain before his search went on, one leg over the bench he was about to sit on yet still standing. Soon enough he saw someone he knew signal over to him from the Ravenclaw table and he wandered over and began to talk however it didn't last long until he was wandering back again. It was a while yet until everyone would be here yet he hoped a certain person would be. Pulling his fingers through his hair and yawning quietly he sat himself back down. His eyes were leafing through the people on the table looking for anyone who was on their team last year and smiled lightly seeing some who were.
Although quite tall, inherited from his father more likley, his knees seemed to have plenty of room under the low table. Pouring himself over the groupings news he joined in the laughter as one of the seventh years showed a self done tatoo gone wrong and instead of a crest he'd managed something more along te lines of rather wobly sided square. Checking his watch he looked back a the large open doors and sighed, his sister would be put under the sorting hat today and he wished she was in anything but Slytherin. In fact Rose wans't exactly Adam's favourite person but he still cared about her. Pulling a piece of paper he found in his pocket out he fiddled with it before opening it and laughing quietly to himself. His mother had taken it upon herself to attatch a charm to the paper so he had to keep it on him allways, if he didn't it would just end up in his pocket anyway.
Adam, Look after Rose will you? I know you've got more interesting matters and that N.E.W.T coursework is you main priority right now but keep an eye on her and help her out. Of course I've already told her she'll be in the same house as you but by any chance she isn't just check up with the house members you know to see how she's doing. You remember your first year don't you? Yes it's not exactly pleasing to walk through swarms of faces to sit infront of everyone to be sorted although I know you were hardly touched by the hat before it started laughing.
You told us everything that happened there and if you need reminders I can easily send in all your letters home, I recall the one about your owl tearing her wing clean off... We never found her did we? Look after Rhan too and remember to feed him. Leave him in the common room, he's bright enough to know better than walking into the fire.
Love H.J Weasley, your mother xx
Rolling his eyes he pushed the letter into his pocket and sat with both hands on each side of his head, elbows on the table. Although full uniform was advised Adam had personalized it. His shirt was hanging out of his trousers and on his feet were dirty trainers, which he found more comfortable than the black shoes he'd been told to wear.

She walked along the slytherin table, she smiled and gave small waves to some people, others she winked at. Yes, to the Slytherin's she was practically like the ice queen. She could be cruel and heartless, yet in a way that attracted you to her. In fact, she wasn't always cold ... just most of the time. She sat down, sharing whispered greetings with some of the other sixth years, they all admired the 'captain' badge that was pinned proudly upon her chest. However, none of them were very much suprised, Frae had made it her ambition to be a famous chaser, and she was certainly living up to that. She was one of the best chasers that Hogwarts possesed, so it was really a suprise to nobody that she got the Captain badge. But nevertheless, the girl who was rarely proud of her achievments was so obviously proud of this one. It was quite interesting to see really.
She looked around, her blonde hair moving with her as she moved her head. Her hair was light blonde, though not to the stage where it was almost white. Her eyes were outlined by black eyeliner, bringing their startling emerald green colour out so that it stood out stunningly. There was a smile - or perhaps it could be called a smirk - that appeared upon her lips as she looked around her, her eyes resting upon a boy. One she knew, or used to know quite well. But one she took all the pleasure in meeting, for there was a sort of rivalry between them, there had always been of course. Even when they were friends. But now there was even more so.
Standing up, she flicked her hair and walked over to the Gryffindor table, aware of some glances, for it was common knowledge that these two houses did not much speak with each other. In fact, very rarely so. She smirked as she came behind him, reading the note over his shoulder she smiled to herself, he had a sister coming? How ... cute. It was humerous to her at the note his mother had written, she was the witch that cared for the House Elves when they were sick, house elves didn't want to be cared for ... they only wanted to work. And work they should. "Well if it isn't elf boy." She said in her drawling tones, so like her fathers. There was both amusement and plain mockery in her tones, she smiled simply. Almost tauntingly, and if one could look closesly, they would see two teeth, one on either side of her mouth that were of different shape and size than the others. They were not obvious, but they were not hidden either.
She glanced at him and saw the captain badge upon his chest. A smile touched her lips, she had been wondering who would captain the Gryffindor team this year. So it would be his team that she would be playing in the first match of the season. They had better win, or he would never let her live it down. "I see you've been made Captain." She said simply.

His head turned slowley so he was basically scowling sharply in the direction of the other blond, she acted like she was royalty the basic trade of the snakes. His lips started to curl into a smirk yet stayed perfectly still in his blank anger that spread over his face. Many of his house behind him watched as he stood up and it proved how much he'd grown, before he'd been barley taller than Frae and now he towered quite oviously over her a small laugh fell from behind him. "Well if it isn't Dracula's child... you been drinking blood over the summer? You look paler than usual been avoiding sunlight have we?" It wans't mean to be comical, it was mocking pure spite against someone he'd known so well a long time ago. He had no tail back from 'elf boy' because basically it was true, he wasn't proud of it or he'd go around screaming it wouldn't he although this was proved by a dark secret he dared not say incase of his mother finding out, she'd probably risk Azkaban to kill him right on the spot.
Stepping back from where he stood rather close to the blond he yawned carefully only moving his jaw and not parting his tightly closled lips. In fact a lot had changed from the last time Adam had seen the half-vampire. She somehow was a little more beautiful than he'd last seen her yet he had no intrest, simple. His hand fell into his black jeans deep pockets leaning slightly more on one hip more than the other. His eyes were a startling shade of turquoise, usually changing depending on light for instance right now they had more of a green or teal look to them. It was quite strange because most of his family had green, hazel or amber eyes when he wasstuck as the odd one out. In fact a lot about him made him wonder if he actually was adopted or not but he'd been proven wrong, quite disturbingly. He had to give Frae credit she always had somethign about her that chilled the air like ice and made many people stare, it was difficult to do that although perhaps it was the strange way she'd walked over to the house rival so easily. "I see you have too, that'll mean Slytherin has passed the reins to a girl... Highly unusual isn't it?"
It was ledgend that one of them had to do something typically bizarre over the summer, he'd gone and got a tatoo which he quite liked. It was as if it was destny to have it however, his equine form had the exact same mark on it's hip and all Adam had to do was copy it from a muggles perspective of photograph, run along to the artist and then it was done. It wasn't as if he was cut off from the muggle world, in fact some of his good friends out of hogwarts were muggles he just had to be carefull thats all. "So stick to our bargain for the summer?" For a second he doubted it yet he seemed to hold a small piece of knowing, even if it was wrong.

She noticed the rest of his house watching him as he stood up and faced her, he had grown taller over the summer. Last year he was only just taller than her, now however he seemd to almost tower over her. But it was also good that Frae carried this natural demeaning air about her. Eyes were still on her from the Slytherin table, they wouldn't drift over, for it wasn't as if Frae was not able to look after herself. "Oh honey, you know its not blood i go for. But hows are the elves .. had many 'patients' over the summer?" She brushed off his insult easily, concealing the anger with a blank stare. There little arguments were ritual at hogwarts, they both had quick and sharp remarks that often got them in trouble. Needless to say however, they were always fun to watch. There was a comical almost amused look in her eyes.
Of course, the old fact of her being a half vampire, it was no choice of hers. But she didn't drink blood, he knew, as did all the rest. But it was like she and the whole 'elf' thing. It was just a subject that got them to the edge. The problem with them having once being friends was that they knew each others weaknesses, as well as their strengths. Adam had changed alot over the summer, he had grown more handsome, if that had been possible. But she would let none know that, it was known that they had a very deep rivalry, and the last thing she wanted was that she thought the Gryffindor captain was hot going around the school. So what if she was vain, so what if she protected her image? That was part of her being the 'ice queen.'
There was a tight smirk formed upon her lips as he spoke again. Yes, he spoke the truth. It was arre to find the Slytherin team in the hands of a girl. But she was the best they had, and though some of the team did not respect it. They also knew she was quite good at hexes. So any concerns they had with it ... they kept to themselves. "Unusual? Oh no, just that no other fool was competant enough. You think i can't captain a team as well as .. the likes of you could?" She sneered tauntingly. Daring him to give her the answer she knew he would want to give. The sorting had not yet begun yet. But that was beside the point, they would argue until it was time for the sorting, then afterwards they would argue some more. It was ritual for them.
She smirked, they had a bargain over the summer. But bizarre was the right word for her end of it. What else would you call figuring out that she had two different shaped Patronus's? She smirked silently as he spoke. "I did. But were you brave enough to?" She patronized him simply. With a devilish smirk twinkling on her lips and her emerald eyes.

His face seemed to form a slightly harsh look as he growled silently. He could take the whole 'elf boy' thing and her annoying him to death yet the whole 'patients' thing wasn't something he could tolerate, he had to stick up for his family. Hands fell each side limply as he stepped back, rathe rpurposly comically and then tried to think, he hadn't wasited his whole plan yet he thought she wouldn't have brought this up... Like every other year. "Mind your own families buisness, I'd keep an eye on Dracula you never know one day it might be someone you actually like. Although with a heart as cold as yours no wonder you don't have true friends. For your information we had just as many as we usually do." Somehow he had to reflect back on what he said without a clue if it made any sense at all. His playful grin stayed pinned to his face as someone stood up and thumped him on the back laughing. Adam had no idea what was funny and so his face stayed the same. "Picked the right fool then didn't they?"
His words seemed to ring around in his head, he'd had a dream that was like this and those exact words came from the oppositions mouth and not his own. Perhaps they were helpful enough to give him comebacks. Running his hand over his hair he lifted his t-shirt, in the act brushing his robes to the side and pushing his trousers down lightly reveiling the corner of the card. The lifting the sleeve of the robe he showed a small scar running up his arm, something he'd always had there had now almost completly vannished. "Nothing chickens me out darlin'." His words were hissed as though they slipped out of his mouth without much thought, although thats what Adam did a lot of and landed himself in detention because of it. No doubt one lesson he would snap at Frae's antincs and he'd see her in a familiar office under punnishment. Although this year he had to try hard, he had a team coutning on practises and him to actually be there for the match.

She watched his face change from that calm mocking stare to an angry one, causing the smile to pierce her lips. This was not about who came up with the best comebacks, it had never been, it was a battle of wits. Who could stand through the conversation long enough, who could keep throwing comebacks that continued to be witty. Not pathetic ones like 'you are.' For that would signal you lost. And loosing, had never been on Frae's agenda. As he spoke she looked as if she had been hit, but she changed this look into one of intense dislike, directed at the one who had stood up to thump Adam on the back. Just this one look almost made him sit back down. "Maybe i should just take her to your house ... is it true your family live in a one bedroom shack?" She hissed coldly, the words slicing icily through the air. Yes she had her wyas of attacking him, and he had his own. But there was one thing they would never speak of, it was a silent agreement.
With his remark about 'choosing the right fool' she smirked somewat coldly. Almost with a superior grin upon her lips. "We'll see who is the fool after the Slytherin Vs Gryffindor match won't we?" She said in a snide, cold and taunting voice. She flicked her hair lazily, it was rather out of habit than in any real need to impress, for she didn't need to impress Gryffindor's, that was truely pathetic. The fact was, this year with each being the cpatian of rival quidditch teams, the rivalry and snide comments would grow between them. There had been a time when they had been friends, but that time was long gone. And if she had her way, it would not be repeated.
She laughed softly, almost knowingly as he spoke. "Oh contrare darling" The words were almost whispered patronizingly. Her voice low and calm, though hiding the anger she felt. The fact that she merely would rellish nothig less than to hex this bastard. As she had done many times, and he had done many time to her.
