ADELINE-x-LOVEGOOD
The year was still fresh and new. The holidays had ended, and the semester was just beginning. She had only been here for about a week, but the homework load was piling up and things were already unraveling. This year seemed as if it would be different, but she wasn't sure how. Maybe this was the year she would finally get over Adam. I mean, she had been caught up in him last year, but she knew nothing could ever happen. He was one of her best friends, after all. She couldn't do anything...and risk ruining their friendship? No, it was best that she just forgot about it completely. Other than that, Hogwarts was pretty much still the same. Just a lot of new faces, a few different teachers and classrooms. Addie never had any trouble with the homework. She was in Ravenclaw for a reason--sharp and quick witted, weren't they? No, classwork wasn't a problem. All in all, this year looked like it would be a good one. At least, she hoped so.
Adeline walked towards the Great Hall. She had just left divination and it was about time for lunch. People were already congregating in the Great Hall. She wore black robes with the Ravenclaw crest and her long blonde hair was tied up in a navy blue ribbon as usual. She clutched her potions textbook in her arm and her wand was nestled within her robes. She walked through the large double doors into the great hall. The tables were laden with food and she was hit with the loud blast of voices that was always eminent in this room. Owls flew overhead, delivering mail to their owners.
She paced towards the Ravenclaw table, finally finding an empty seat and sitting down. She took a glass of Pumpkin Juice and looked around for some of her friends.

The days were not low in numbers, infact they were high and the boy loathed school, but anything to get him out and soon he would be out, leaving behind younger friends and his new respectful peer, Frae. He enjoyed her sight of pure blood, he was one for that; not your typical death eater, he had dated a half blood, now she was close to him and he would protect her from his evil villian of friends. He smirked as he thought of his somewhat doubled life.
Seeing her ahead of him he waited for her to sit at the table. She had fallen for the doltz, Adam Weasley, after having her he hadn't found another that came close to her compassion. He went from girl to girl only flirting, once last year he had a girlfriend but she was more of a dimwit than anyhting, oogling his muscles that were nice for a seventeen year old. He smiled at the fact the girl was down with Adam. He knew she was hurt form their break up last year but he kept his anger down at her consent.
So close to her he came, he swfitly sat in the seat and grinned at her. "Hello beautiful." Comments from him were flirty usually, but this wasn't a flirt, a mere greeting for his best and closest friend of all. It was funny how some relationships of more than friends land you as being the best of friends. He smiled at his witty companion and grabbed a buttered piece of toast. He used his wand to swing some pumpkin juice towards him. "What's on the schedule today?" He was able to talk to her more easily than others and it seemed he was another person with her. Anyone would had something to say about his fondness of a half-blood could shove it, and he would do it for them, screw them, she was a great friend.

She turned her head as she heard his voice, a wide smile spreading across her face. She hadn't seen him at all over the holidays. How long was that...three, four months? So naturally, she was glad to see her best friend. As he sat down, she threw her arms around him in a hug, exclaiming "Dominick!" After embracing him for a moment, she sheepishly let go and placed her hands in her lap. She looked up at him, still smiling. Despite their huge personality and belief differences, they still managed to be best friends. Well, they had started off as more than friends. He was her first love. Of course, after a while they decided that the relationship just wasn't all it used to be and broke up. At least they were on good terms. Anyways, they decided they couldn't live without eachothers company and soon became inseparable friends.
She sipped some more pumpkin juice and took a buttered roll, biting into it delicately. What's on the schedule today? She pondered the question as she chewed, looking pensive. She still hadn't really gotten her schedule down yet.
"Well, I've got a bit of free time after lunch. Then potions, I believe."
She said simply, glancing over at Dominick.
"What about you?"

He had woken up late, as usual. Showering quickly, he muttered a drying spell and made sure his hair fell just so. He was a guy who cared about his looks, everything about his reputation depended on it. Matt left the dormitories, shaking off his cronies. Today, he wanted nothing to do with them. Striding into the Great Hall, he immediatly spotted Dominick. They had been friends since they were kids and had stuck together through a lot. Pity he wasn't in Slytherin where he belonged. He was sitting with his ex, Adeline. She was one of the few half bloods he could stand. She wasn't half bad looking either.
"Hey Dom, Adeline."
He greeted casually, sliding onto the bench across from them. His green eyes flickered almost lazily to the girl and he gave a grin. He had known her for years, eventually they had gotten close.

ADELINE -x- LOVEGOOD
What an interesting picture. Adeline Lovegood, the daughter of Luna Lovegood and childhood friend of the Potters and Weasleys...sitting here with Matthew Malfoy and Dominick. Of all people! What would Adam and Rose think? Oh well. Adeline didn't pick her friends by their house, family, or even beliefs. She cared for people who cared for her. Whether it be a death eater like Dominick or the son of the man who defeated the dark lord. She and Matthew had never gotten too close, but it was kind of hard not to be friends, seeing as they shared a mutual best friend, right? They had learned to tolerate eachother, and she certainly didn't hate his company. He was...exotic, to say the least. Both these boys definitely made her life interesting at times.
She offered a simple smile to Matt, nodding her head at his greeting.
"Hey, Matt."
She said simply.
"How was your holiday?"

Matt flicked his hair out o fhis eyes and proceeded to eat an orange from the bowl that sat in front of him. He caught the puzzled glances from his Slytherin friends, but merely gave them a glare. They wouldn't dare say anything to him about sitting with the half blood, they were too cowardly to brave his temper.
"THey were alright. DAd was in a foul mood most of the summer, Andi kept bothering him with her boy troubles. You?"

Dominick first lightly scowled at another presence but he got over it. It was MAtt after all and he accpeted the Malfoy with friendly love, if it was possible. He looked down at the Slytherines that stared; his grin widened. "Wow, Matt, your table just loves you, why on earth be with us?" It was a tease but Dominick put his friendly face in on it. He liked the Malfoy boy and he was fun to hang around.
He hadn't answered Addie's question but listened to Matt's holiday summary. He shook his head with a chuckle; Andi was always a mess. "Well, who's her secret lover now? Figured you'd know by now." Dom knew she was too happy to just be single, it wasn't like Andie and he was suspicious. He looked to Adeline. "I think I have free time and...Transfiguration...but maybe I take potions with you." He smiled, she was smarter than him but he was sharp too. She was better at Potions even thoguht they both got As. He smirked and looked down at Matt. "What's your first class?"

"Eh, I got tired of them."
Matt replied cheekily, returning his friend's grin. Listening to his next words, Matt's mood immediatly changed. His eyes grew cold as he thought about it.
"I have my suspicions."
MAtt said simply, glancing over to where his sister sat, carefully ignoring him. She knew he was onto her and was watching her step.
"I think I have Potions with you, Adeline."
