The Hogwarts staff room, place of teachers and mystery and fear, rarely entered by students if ever, except in very special circumstances. Guarded at eh door by two stone gargoyles, never quite the same since battle raged through the school. But it was of little importance, decorum its self and the model of manners stated that every student knowcked and if there was no reply did not enter.
The passage way that lead to the staff room was long and dark, lit by flaming torches with less adornment tot he walls than the rest of the school. Indeed it seemed that the gargoyles were the single most lively thing within the whole dank grey stretch. It was clearly not a much frequenty corridor. But that was how they liked it presumably, quiet and out of the way.
And it was down this dark and depressing corridor that Ebony walked, trying to keep her breatjhing in check and steeling her self not to jump at the thought of the depression and the shadows that lurked in the corners. Brooding, like an evil presence. She hurried on down until the door hove into view, standing a few meters down the corridor from it she had the presence of mind to take a tiny chipped mirror from her pocket and to smarted herself up. The poitions master was interminably strict.
Studying her reflection in the mirror she straightened her robes, hid her necklace down the front of them and pushed bracets up her arms, she swept more of her auburn hair back behind her ears and studied her eyes. She liked her eyes, but she could allready see dark shadows of worry forming under them, it had to be done, sooner rather than later.
Stowing the mirror away ang pushing her bag strap up her shoulder Ebony took the last few steps at a bizarre kinds of a jog, skidding to a halt infront of the foreboding oak door. SMoothing her robes and hairdown one last time she took a deep breath in and let it out again. It'll be fine, im gonna be alright she told herself as, reaching out one pale and shakin hand she knocked the door.
