Holly walked with her head down into the library, Ah, salvation!. Inhaling deeply she sucked in the smells of all the books and parchment. Pushing her brown hair back she went to find an empty table. As usual, her friends did not feel the need to come with her. It saddened Holly that not many of her friends shared her interest in books.. most just wanted to stare at boys all day. Sure, Holly liked looking at boys, just not as often as reading a book.. besides, most of the good looking boys weren't interested in reading, or intelligent conversation... That bugged her, if she ever wanted to fall in love it had to be with someone who enjoyed talking and reading, not just physical stuff. She had never had a boyfriend for that reason.. never had she found the right person. Sure, she had her petty crushes like all girls do.. but nothing serious that she would act on. Finding a table she took a book out of her bag. Sighing she opened the rather large text and started reading where she had left off the day before. Soon her thoughts left her, and her head swam with the words as she filed them in her brain pleasently. Crossing her legs she turned the page, eager to keep going.. eager to learn more.

Study, class, detention, class, study. That's all he ever did. No girls for Teddy, oh no! The Gryffindors were all dating their boys, the hufflepuffs were just plain weird, and the only worth while Ravenclaw was being crushed on by one of his best friends. Slytherins didn't even enter the equation, they were all slimy gets. Or so it seemed to him. With a grimace Teddy Sirius Lupin entered the library for what seemed like the fourth day that week. Oh, don't give him that look, he had Quidditch, and let's face it, that's way more important. Supposedly the Sorting Hat had seemed something in him that was Ravenclawish, or he wouldn't be here now, but Teddy knew of no such thing in him at all. Walking into the library Teddy sighed and slowly began changing his hair from bright blue into brown ver so lightly hinted with gold. He did, however, keep his light blue eyes. The last time the metamorphmagus had walked into the library with wild hair, waist-long and scarlet that day, the librarian had literally had a cow and forced him out, hitting him with a ruler as he went. Ever since then he switched to what he called his 'muggle look' as he crossed the threshold.
The sixth year glanced around and quickly found the section he was looking for. History. That dry old History professor had commanded a 2 foot long report on the Being convention of the fourteenth century. At last he found all the material he could ever need, his arms filled with heavy tomes that expelled dust every time they were touched. How long had it been since their covers had been cracked? Grimacing he thumped them down on a table with only one other person sitting at it. A large cloud of dust rose into his nostrils, sending him into fits of coughing. Returning the librarian's dirty look Teddy sat, glancing at teh girl who sat before him. She wore a Ravenclaw crest on her robes, but Teddy couldn't remember ever seeing her before. She was, however, quite pretty, with long brown hair and large blue eyes. At least she wasn't blonde. He hated blondes with a passion, don't ask why, becasue he won't be able to answer. And yet for some reason she looked oddly familiar... "Exscuse me, but do I know you?" Maybe he could talk to her instead of work. Anything she had to say would be far more interesting then the dusty tomes before him.

Holly lapped up the information with a great thirst. No wonder she was in Ravenclaw, the sorting hat barely touched her head when it chuckled a head full of knowledge.. RAVENCLAW it screamed. Holly still remembered the words clearly and happily. She had come to Hogwarts questioning herself... most of the questions disappeared when she was sorted. Only now, there were more than before, and more difficult. It was her sixth year, and not once had she managed to find the right guy, even for a few months. It was hard.. sure there were alot of cute boys.. even in her house. She found Teddy Lupin very good looking, but she was sure he was into the shallow, sexy girls. Not plain, deep Holly Walker, she doubted he even knew who she was! that would not suprise her, not many people did know her. She was so quiet and reserved. hearing a loud thud, Holly brought her eyes and mind from the book. Her large eyes widening abit farther.. she smiled weakly to the boy who decided to share her table.. it was Teddy Lupin, from her house. She felt bacd as he asked if he knew her.. she had been in all of his classes for six years! they were in the same house. Um yeah.. we've been in all the same classes for six years she said gently, weakly smiling and trying to become composed once more. Looking him in the eye with her large blue ones she averted her gaze. Guessing he would probably want to talk she closed the book. Pushing it to the side she leaned on it with one arm. Pushing her hair from her face, she saw a few girls walk by and look from her to Teddy, giving her a horrible look. Holly looked down, blushing slightly. She hated when people seemed angry at her, it wasn't her fault he chose to sit with her! She never understood why some girls got so jealous, after all.... it was just one guy.

The girl's eyes were wide as she stared at him, seemingly frightened by him, though she was a pretty little thing. Teddy glanced over her once before settling back on her face, her eyes were the best thing about her, wide and innocent, in nearly the exact same shade of blue as his own eyes were at present. A rueful grin splayed across his face as she pointed out his discretion. The same classes for six years? Now I look like a jerk. Well, that explained where he had seen her before. "Aww.. Now you made me go and look like a jerk." There was really only to things to do. Crack open the books or try and make it up to her. It was an easy choice. Teddy's grin widened and he stretched out his tan hand across the table. It was rough with Quidditch calluses, the nails short. "What d'dyou say we start over. I'm Teddy Lupin. You are?"
ooc//okay, yeah, I just fell out of my chair. leave me alone.

Holly glanced down as he looke over her, in her opinion she was ugly. She didn't have extreme beauty like Andromeda Malfoy, nor an interesting look like Frae Vixnon. No, Holly was.. plain, boring and in her opinion.. ugly. She was shy, reserved and down right timid. Most of the other girls were loud, bold, and unafraid. Lucky them. Howwver, most of them also came from well known families. She was a muggle born. No one knew her family, no one really cared either. Holly let her mouth spread into an adorable, innocent smile. A jerk? he didn't seem like one.. he was popular.. she wasn't.. she decided to try and explain well.. you're popular, everyone knows you and what happened in your family. I-I'm not popular.. nobody knows my family she said shrugging I don't think you're a jerk.. we may have spoek two words to each other in six years.. but you seem nice she said offering him a smile. Holly uncrossed her legs, accidently brushing hers against his. Holly looked down, blushing furiously. As he spoke she looked back up, placing her small soft hand in his large and rough one. Shaking it gently, she pulled her hand away after looking him in the eye, blushing slightly and smiling abit wider. I'm Holly Walker. she said quietly. Looking at the book title History essay? she asked, abit more confidence in her voice. She had already finished the essay.

Teddy was an interesting case. On teh surface he was loud, charming, and quick to anger. But hidden away beneath that exterior there was a softer side. he normally displayed that incredibly protective side around only one person, Lily Potter. Lupin loved her like a sister, and would do anything for the girl. Sure he might be loud, he might curse, he might get detentions, and he might fight in the corriders; but under neath it all there was actually a quite different person. He was truly sorry he had not know this girls name, Holly. She seemed sweet, and she was certainly better then the blonde pirahnas that circled every time he went out side the boy'sdormitories. As he had said many a time before: If you're blonde do everyone a service and die your hair. Finally he recognized her name. He'd read it of a list he had snitched from a Slytherin entitled "Mudbloods". Holly Walker had been third down. Later that very day he had gone and tried to beat the older kid up, though it ended with the nurse trying to explain that a first year does not take on a seventh year. For any reason. With an easy grin he contradicted her gently. "Sure I know about your family. You're muggle-born, which isn't any shame at all." Some of his best friends were muggle borns after all.
Teddy winked at teh Ravenclaw as she shook his rather large hand with her small one, relishing the silky smoothness of her palm. But that wasn't the only silky smooth thing touching him right now. And no, I dont mean his underwear. Holly's leg swung out and gently brushed agains his shin, which he had been stretching out rather far. With a wink Teddy probably worsened her blush, but he couldn't tell from how she looked down. Fingering his thin blade of a nose the sixth year stared at the pile of books. "Why, yes indeed it is Miss Holly Walker."

Holly smiled, he made her feel good about herself. I know.. the Malfoys don't seem to think so that. Andromeda likes to take shots at me all the time.. everytime she passes it's some comment. she said lightly. Sure, it bugged her. But what could she possibly do about it? Nothing thats what. Andromeda had some of the most power witches and wizards at the school on her side. her brother, and Frae among the top. Holly had nobody. She was basically a loner and it hurt knowing so many other people hung out with people who shared their interests. Sure she had friends, but they were not like her. As he winked, her eyes widened alittle and she bowed her head. Blushing furiously. Silently, she cursed herself. She was being such a baby! but she was new to all this. Looking back up she bit her lip, still abit red. I can help you if you want.. I finished with an extra foot. she said leaning ove into her bag and fetching her essay. She held the words towards her. She wouldn't let him cheat. If he was in Ravenclaw he could do it.. but she would definitly give him tips and help.

A snort rang from his nostrils as she mentioned the Malfoys. Arrogant twerps. He wouldn't mind hexing them all over the school. "The Malfoys are nothing but inbred swine, even if I am related to 'em. In fact, just count me along with the swine." The first part of the sentence had been heated, his hair growing slightly red, but the last was said with a playful grin, daring her to disagree. But Teddy seriously doubted she would. Of course, if she did he might just have to ask her out to The Three Broomsticks next weekend when a Hogsmeade trip was scheduled. Just to prove that there were no such things as mudbloods, of course. Teddy had been, right that purely innocent wink had set off a furious blush, causing him to grin even bigger. Hey, who wouldn't smile at such a creature/ She was like a doe, so beautiful and graceful when it ventures forth from it's thorn thicket, but it happens rarely, and you have to be lucky enough to catch it in the act or it will retreat back to it's thorny enclosure. A sigh of releif drove all ridgidity from his muscles as she said she would help with his essay. Only magic knows why the Sorting Hat put someone like h im in Ravenclaw. "Really? You would help me? I've no idea why the Hat put me in Ravenclaw, I'm far to impulsive."

Holly became abit braver as Teddy seemed to get angry that the Malfoys made fun of her. He truly made her feel good about herself. Smiling softly she was shocked to hear him call himself a swine like Malfoy. Holly shook her head No you're not. If you were a... swine you would have made fun of my already she said looking down. Slytherins took great joy in making fun of Holly. It was what they were good at.... about a week ago one of them starting taunting her. Her looks, her family and her brains. It ended with her crying and only getting teased more. When they came to taunt her "friends" usually left, that wanted to be on Andromeda's good side.. they complimented her frequently. Holly nodded, sure she'd help. Taking her hands off her lap she put them on the table. Opening her essay she performed a trickly little charm making it impossible for anyone but her to read at the moment. Ofcourse I'll help. My so called friends left me to gawk at boys... She was feeling alot braver, well her body seemed to be. Holly just let herself be taken away by it. I suppose the hat put me in Ravenclaw because I've always got my nose stuck in a book and am not shallow like most of the girls here she said quietly. Looking at the floor she looked back up, blushing slightly she cleared her throat um okay, so.. what do you need help with? she asked, reaching out to turn the parchment, but accidently brushing his hand with hers. Oh great.. she was making herself look like an idiot..

Ah, so perhaps this little mouse of a girl wasn't as much of a mouse as Teddy had thought. Apparently she had enough fire to contradict him, quite a feat for one so shy as her. But he liked her. She was the opposite of all the girls that blatantly chased, him attracted by the novelty and some simply wanting to get closer to the Potters. Disgusting. Holly, on the other hand, was quiet and deeper, graced with good looks augmented by the simple innocene and obviously unnoticed modesty with which she carried herself. No cruel words had ever slithered from her mouth, and no coy movements or flutters of the eyes, either. "Nonsense." He said gently, his eyes softening as he stared into her face. "Why would anyone with even a scrap of decency in their body want to make fun of you?" A grin surfaced once more, breaking whatever gentility had resided upon his face into a mililon shattering peices, only to be replaced bya far different masterpeice of art. Compare Picasso's blue and rose periods for an example, though that contrast comes no where close to Teddy's change. "Really? What a coincidence. I left my friends to gawk at girls." Teddy's eeys were wide and innocent as he said this, insinuating nothing, although he obviously was. "Right now what I really need is a bit of company. What do you first think of when you hear these words: Hogsemade. Weekend. Three Broomsticks. Me and You?"

Holly shrugged apparently alot of people.. she said sadly. people take advantage of me.. after all, Im quiet, shy and short.. she said averting her gaze from his gorgous face.. oh no. Holly had never felt what she was feeling. her palms were slightly sweaty, her heart raced and she was lost for words.. what did it mean? was Holly finally falling for someone? that was impossible.. she had just met him! okay, well not really.. but she had never talked to him before... gahh. Holly was new to this! and it was not something she could learn from a book.. only with experience, which she did not have and it unsettled her. Holly smiled wow, maybe they'll meet up. Then I'll spend hours on end listening to them gush. she said rolling her eyes. Holly hreself was suprised by that little joke. She bet Teddy was too.. after all, he knew her as shy.. which she was. But as people got to know her, they found out she could be bold. Her eyes widened as he gave her a row of words, he was asking her out. Holly gaped slightly. Raising her eyebrows.. I-I-I she managed to shut herself up.. o-okay she said blushing horribly.. he was taking her on a date. her first date.
