Although most frowned upon the muggle devices of music they where never exactly not allowed to be used in magical environments. Artemis was one of those who enjoyed the odd blast of a song while she worked from the white headphones. Now and again her rosey lips shifted as if she was mouthing the words to the song she was listening to. Amazingly she'd made an effort to dress quite nicely possibly the first in a long time. Her long brown hair was clipped in a stylish bun and her usual black dress was replaced by a white vest, large brown belt and a flowing gypsy style white skirt coupled with her faithful brown boots. Althoguh it didn't look too good with her grey robes it gave a sense of strange atmosphere about her. Perhaps that she was evidently sick of being who she was, a little depressed and trying to hide it or something completley different. Tapping her long finger nails against the mohogany desk in her own little cubby hole she looked to her left and let her blue eyes look over the wall.
At the bottom was her family, Ariana Dumbledore, her husband and her three children. The twins were standing together although it was obvious they wern't in the best of moods with eachother as the occasional flick of the eyes at eachother were deadly, the spit and image they were of eachother even dressed the same in the old black and white photograph. Their brother was wedged on their mothers hip happy to play with her hair. Artemis couldn't really remember much of those times they were distant to her unlike Aariane who was more interested in being part of the family, closer to Ariana by far. Artemis used to be the rebellious child running outside and trampling flowers, screaming in the dead of night for no reason and frightening her siblings it was just who she was at those times. It was fun and she wouldn't change it but she would ahve liked to know her family a little better, well she obviously knew Aariane enough they saw eachother everyday.
Above those where random pieces of newspapers and another photograph. It was in a bad way the corners where burnt away in a bit of fury and half of Artemis' head was torn away whilst the other person she was with was badly burnt of the side and his head was clean off but she still kept it. It was sentimental to her although he'd hurt he badly. Lupin, Romulus Lupin. She had no idea if he still worked in the ministry but still in her heart she had some sort of affection toward him. Yet whenever anyone said that photo is nice you look young on it she replied, yes I was sixteen there. Her words gave a hint on 'dont mention the person beside me or I'll snap' and that was the way it would always be. She didn't consider him an enemy or someone she disliked just someone who had broken her heart badly and the scars would always be there. Twice she'd forgiven him but he'd just gone and done it again. Finnishign off her written report she pushed it into her rawr and dried off the tip of her peacock tail feather quill.
A strange looking machine next to her gave a small shudder and two sheets of paper jumped out. Her eyes read over them and she fell forward letting her elbow prop on the table hold her head up, a small smile fell over her face and lifted her solemn mood. She'd had a wave of depression over her since the last meeting after the knowledge that her uncle had been murdered. She let the letter fall onto the desk and her eyes stayed fixated on the tiny writing. It wasn't a letter as such but a friend who was writing a novel and wanted to have a second opinion. Crossing her legs she lifted her head as a mug of coffee zoomed down the corridor followed by another one which landed clumbsily on her desk spilling a little on the wood. She sighed and picked it up wiping the spill with the long sleve of her robes. She never actually drank the coffee but she still bought it for the smell which to her was one of the most wonderful ones in the world.
Her finger pressed quickly on the next button of her music player and came on with a quite jazzy sound which she mouthed the quick lyrics with ease as she continued to sign off her to do list. Actually she was done for today, there was no work left for her yet she still had so stay until 2pm. Yawning she picked up a small pocket mirror and looked at herself with little enjoyment out of it. The office actually seemed quiet than usual, that and not many people were in at 6:30am. Yes Artemis had come in early because she was complaining that she had nothing else to do. Now she didn't even have work to do! Maybe something would crop up later in the day. Yet as these thoughts passed through her mind a small memo birst onto her table and opened with a crumple. "Artemis come see me... NOW!" The paper screamed the words just like a howler and she crindged at it slightly. Great the Minister probably found out what she'd said about his "idiotic and dangerous tactics of not explaining any of this to the muggle priminister who was suseptical to be a great big target." Or maybe it was the one about him being a "twat". Another memo hit the desk with the same rate. "... make that 10am Miss Alcippe..."
